The great handbag debacle of the 1980s resulted in the confusion amogst the taverns of the old world. Women now frequented these places in defensive packs.
Dancing to tunes of old and new, in a ritualistic ceremony around handbags... a high couture circle, where fashion is god and men are not welcome within.
A sisterhood had been born. They vowed to defend each other from uncouth unwashed, unfashionable, drunk men.
No longer were men all that important to the sisterhood. Music, fashion and solidarity now set their rules of engagement.
Men generally struggled with the concept of these defensive circles. They feared their approach. Feared change. The ones that still chanced luck, were often brutally ridiculed and the population suffered as a result. |
