i slept like a rock at the bottom of the sea last night. so, i was ready when the street work started just before 7 a.m. there is a huge dinosaur-sized digger now across the street. they are already about 8 feet down now. the noise is noisy. i have a free pass for a movie, so i think i will go down town and see what i can see. i do not want to have this noise all the livelong day. then i can come back home walking over the mountain of love. the cats are freaked out by the noise, but they are doing okay. buster is looking more fragile all the time. he is getting close to 19 years old now, i am guessing. he has been such a good companion for me these last 7 years.

Monday, January 30, 2012, 1:21:09 PM- so far so good
i had only a brief 20 minute nap yesterday in the earlier part of the afternoon, so i was not worried about falling asleep last night. i was in bed by 10:35 pm and ready for deep sleep. i slept like rock at the bottom of the sea. i had to get up to pee and give cats more water. i was very happy when i first heard the heavy equipment at 6:40 a.m. this morning and realized that i had indeed slept long enough. they are not supposed to make noise before 7 a.m. but they start up the motors to warm them up 15 minutes or so before. it is loud now at the moment, but the equipment is down the street a bit, not right in front of my shack. i have invited some of the street work crew to come in for coffee and look at all the naked bums here in NNland. they asked if i mind if they stroke their cocks and write some of their own comments. i said sure - why not? so, as i finish my big breakfast and set the picture selector to butts/ass, i can enjoy myself for awhile. but i will have to get away from the shack for a while. go for a long walk on the mountain of love. come back and do pushups. i fell on the ice on saturday, and would have fallen on my back and head if i had not done a spinning twist in the air to take the fall on my hip and right hand outstretched. i have a minor wrist sprain. it was swollen up a bit yesterday after street mission chores, but not too bad at present. at least i can type with no big discomfort. look at all these naked bums!

Monday, January 23, 2012, 4:09:07 PM- street work begins today
this is gonna be kinda boring in this blog for a while. i am gonna use it to write about the street work going on in front of my shack. the street is being ripped up and dug down and new sewer, water lines, power cables, gas trunk, and everything under the street redone. the system is 100 years old and needs to be replaced. there are trucks and heavy equipment moving into place as i speak. i guess they were waiting for the new moon and the chinese new year to begin. this is the year of the water dragon. hay! i am a water dragon, myself!! there was some controversy and hearsay about a delay in the works, cuz one of the companies in this project, which began 2 years ago, has had its license suspended due to corruption and collusion with organized crime. but i can see the trucks from that company are out there, ready to rumble. it will be a lot of noise and confusion for the next 7-8 weeks. i think the cats and i will be okay. it will be a challenge, but we are ready.

well, this neighbourhood where i live, this block where i live is going into a big period of challenge and transformation. the street in front of my shack is going to be dug up and haul away the old water, gas, electric, and sewer trunk. the whole deal under the street. and this is a very busy commuter street that i am on. hundreds of thousands of vehicles use this street in front of me. everything gets rebuilt all at once. it will mean at least 8 weeks of chaos and noise. they will begin at 7 in the morning, and go until sundown. no work on weekends. we will have only weekends to enjoy some silence. my upstairs neighbour was playing his piano quite passionately and a bit loud for a while yesterday and today. not for long. maybe 20 minutes each time. and then he goes back to playing just on his earphones. but the idiot guitar god who lives in the building to our self has taken this as a provocation and has been playing steadily at concert volume for the past two hours. he has not played this loud for a very long time. he sounds angry and hostile. a few minutes ago he made the cups and glasses in the kitchen rattle. he likes to make the building shake. right now just his bass guitar. he thinks all this acoustic space belongs to him. he needs to concertize for us. he knows what we need to listen to. it does not matter what we might choose to listen to in our own leisure. we cannot hear what we choose, because he wants to drown everything else. he has a mean and threatening look lately when i see him on the sidewalk. one time when he was super loud, and i went over to talk to him, he threatened to throw me off his balcony. he is a really charming man. right now he sounds hostile and confrontational. something will have to change if we are going to get some serious quiet time on the weekends. soon quiet time will be too precious to put up with him.

Wednesday, January 4, 2012, 3:40:40 AM- strange acoustics
in this building we have very strange acoustics. i may have mis-identified the source of the bass riffs. it may have been one of my other neighbours playing so loud. one of my other neighbours has just returned from the holiday vacations. he is a keyboard virtuoso and nowhere near as deranged as the idiot guitar god. i maybe made an error. he was playing his keyboard just a few minutes ago, and playing perzackly the bass riffs i was hearing earlier. this is a very creative, wild neighbourhood. we have another bass guitarist as well, although he almost always plays only with earphones. at one time we had two drummers, two bass guitarists, one very good clarinet player, too.

Tuesday, January 3, 2012, 10:38:09 PM- idiot neighbour uses our building as his practice space
i have an idiot guitar god neighbour who thinks it is quite alright to play his bass and guitar super super loud whenever he pleases. he does have a recording studio in his apartment. when he practices in that space we do not mind, cuz he has good soundproofing in there. but i think that is a bit too claustrophobic for him. he needs to remind us what a musical genius he is. this is really tedious and frustrating. he played really loud bass for the past 15 minutes, and i think he will likely start up again soon. i think that he lives alone, has nobody to love him, and he wants to be recognized by somebody, or anybody. one time i said to him that the stripper bars downtown are not just for the tourists, you know. we have world famous stripper bars here in montréal, you know. i said that he should go down there and find somebody to pay some attention to him. it does not cost that much. he is so desperate, so needy and so useless.

Saturday, December 31, 2011, 2:17:44 AM- end of the year blog
so, i had the last session with my psychiatrist today. we talked about depression and how to deal with it. i asked him what is it that makes him most depressed. he said that one of his favourite tv shows had been cancelled and things just went downhill from there. he thinks that his wife is having phone sex with other women when he is not at home. he says his life is a mess. i still get charged for these sessions, you know? i do not know how things got turned around. he is always reaching out to me and asking for help. i guess i get some benefit just from being someone to listen to him. most of the time i do not make many comments or give him feedback, you know, because most of the time his problems sound quite trivial and ridiculous. my cats ask me why i bother with him. i know longer have a good answer for that question. maybe 2012 will be the year when i break free from all these burdonsome relationships.

Thursday, December 22, 2011, 3:02:52 AM- xmas food drive and hampers all done
all finished now with the big heavy duty chores of the christmas food hampers at the street mission where i volunteer. we gave out big boxes of food today for 140 people. those families with children received a frozen turkey, as well. and lots of new presents of toys and games, etc. for the families, too. now have two weeks off. it looks like i might be able to go for a run in the park on christmas day. no heavy snow in sight. right now we got pissing rain and freezing rain on and off. happy winter solstice, all you naked people!

Monday, December 5, 2011, 4:46:59 AM- on change
we change. we grow older. we change. i worked hard doing chores at the street mission. i enjoy being used like a workhorse. came home and did some housework. had a nap. now i have happy fatigue at the end of the day. is it a sign of aging that i can attain complete happiness by simply sharing some catnip with my cats, nursing a strong beer long time, and just play solitaire on computer long time? does it mean i am getting older or what?

Thursday, December 1, 2011, 3:03:05 PM- delighted with running
well, i decided to go looking for an article that i had clipped a long time ago on ankle and foot stretches. i have been improvising some massage methods for my right calf. i kneel on the floor and reach back to work the origins of the soleus muscle and then do the stretches. what the hell? it worked! ha! i was a little bit cautious when i went out to run yesterday on the mountain of love. after a few minutes of slow jogging i was able to get full power in there and really run hard! i stopped to walk just a few times. the woods are now completely naked. you can see the terrain all around in a way that is not possible when the trees are all leafed out. it was drizzly and windy and chilly when i was out to run, but no snow anywhere. a few years ago i was able to run right into the second week of december before the deep snow arrived. maybe i can go running on saturday again.
