Shyguy1976's blog post - number of Profile Views.. Why?

So I was thinking about how NN post your number of profile views and then I got to think (I don't do this often) Why have this feature? I mean it's a hate for those who play the numbers game. Now I am very guilty of this and it's been a huge negative for me and I know others would think the same. So NN why not get rid if this feature? I mean the whole point of this site is to gain self confidence (which I lost long ago) BUT number of profile views just makes this worse. I bet A LOT of people look at their number of profile views and compare themselves to others here (I myself am VERY guilty of this) which leads to resentment of others and really does NOTHING for the people of this site. I think we should get rid of the profile view numbers feature and I think that would put EVERYONE on a level playing ground and then concentrate more on pics and beauty of this site which it what this site is suppose to be all about isn't it?

Let me know what you think about this subject? Are you with or against me on eliminating Profile view numbers?

so numbers of views depends on a lot of different things
your activity, posting status, forum threads, blogs and posting pics
if you are nice, mean, sarcastic, interesting, that will also increase views
i had lots of views when i was posting exposing blogs,
many came to thank me via PM...
lots of things in life might seem unfare,
so where does it end with considdering everybodies ''feelings''??
just wondering?

Arti...ALL of your points are valid which makes it all the MORE reason I'd say to get rid of the number of profiles views feature

I don't think you will have overwhelming success with this suggestion, sure most of us would like more views but what can you do,I found that sometimes negative people get more views,people like to see who people are,what makes them the way they are...so popular is not always the reason for so many views.... I will say I am so sorry you feel this way,I've seen you and thought you were good looking but that's me looking at you,sorry you don't see what I see. 😞

I never look to be honest and it has no interest to me, does the number make any difference to how people think of me and does that even matter nope.

I agree Dignitea.. So with all these factors why not what eliminate the profile views number feature... what's the whole point in that feature????

The WHOLE point in this blog is NOT why does this person get more views than others. I wrote this to ask why the number of profile views is even there? what's the point in the feature?

Remember how it was before NN changed the ways views worked,no matter how many times you clicked in and out of a profile it became a view,why do you think some have so so many views. A member (one which shall not be named) use to brag how he got some of his favorites so many views,I'm sure some of mine are from people that liked me a lot back then(other reason is I'm sweet(cough,cough..who said that?) and I have tits) but the point is that a lot people's views on here are not true views.(also I pretty much stopped looking at mine) Also I think people like seeing views,how many times how many times has someone posted "I'm almost there,can someone help me reach my goal?" And seriously it is a lot easier to ignore the profile read now. I don't think it is something NN needs to get rid of. Again,I'm sorry this causes you so much grief. 😞😓

Ask NN if he can disable the profile views count from your own profile. It might just be a tick box in the site administration settings.
