The Mrs. and I recently headed to New Orleans to catch a Twenty One Pilots show, late last week. After the show, we both agreed the duo put on the best concert we'd ever seen. The next morning, we decided to hunt down the city's two surviving Banksy street paintings.

Early last week, Lovehoney.com offered a mystery box flash sale. Eliminating the decision making process of adult toy selection, the purchase made great sense.
The unboxing was a bit of a surprise. Standing 8" tall, 7" insertable, boasting a sizable 6.5" diameter girth, this 2 lber is advertised as perfect for advanced play. It's unfortunate the veiny texture loses some of its luster because of the cheap molding material.

Time to get this thing out of the show room and take it for a test drive.

After reading a few articles about life casting, an artsy fartrsy term for making plaster replicas of body parts, we started gathering supplies to make our own.
This is the result of our first attempt to mold the vagina.
The process is done in two stages. Both are fairly messy. First, the mold was created using Alginate. From what I understand, adverse reactions to Alginate are extremely rare. I used an old paint brush to apply the mold in several thick, heavy layers until I had used the entire mixture.
While waiting for the Alginate mold to dry, I mixed up a batch of plaster of Paris to apply over the Alginate mold to give it stability during the removal and actual casting process. It was also recommended to apply several layers of plaster bandages. We had to improvise with strips of paper towels coated in PoP.
The second stage took around 30 min to dry.
Once I was confident the mold was fairly dry, I started mixing a second batch of PoP about the same size as the first. This will be used to actually make the cast. After a thorough mix, I quickly, but carefully, peeled off the mold and began coating the inside with PoP. Once I was confident the mold could hold a little weight, I poured the remaining plaster into the mold. Give the cast at least 40 minutes to dry before screwing with it.
During clean-up, try not to get plaster residue in the plumbing. Showers are the most vulnerable.
We both enjoyed our first attempt at life casting. We have more planned in the very near future.

Last night/ this morning in video chat Mrs. A decided to make a collaborative painting with input from fellow NN's...too much fun!!!!

Hey all.

We've been working on some photos/videos using mirrors to get a reflection shot. We've had some success and our share of failures. We are starting to realize we need our own photog to help us out.

We started using a make-up mirror. The normal reflection worked ok, the magnified side was basically worthless to us. We then tried a larger mirror. It was easier to get a better shot, but not quite the desired shot.

We finished our experiment using a full size mirror. It was nearly impossible to control and ruined the mood.

We will revisit using mirrors to enhance our photos and videos in the future. We just need more experience and maybe another set of eyes to make it worth while.

I think the lighting and composition turned out pretty good. However, I'm having some post-processing issue. The biggest hurdle is Photoshop CS3. This early version is no longer supported and Adobe has gotten out of the business of selling software. It appears they are subscription based.

CS3 also has issues with MacBooks latest operating system and requires a third party installer to make it work. Needless to say, I'm in a constant battle to get acceptable color, sharpness and contrast.

As a former photographer, I am starting to be more conscious of our photos and videos composition and quality. If you have any questions about lighting and suggested camera settings, I will do my best to answer them. I'm not abreast of the latest and greatest in photo/video cameras, so I won't be able to suggest gear. However, I know of some great sites that give honest reviews of equipment that can help you make that decisions.

We have been trying out some new lighting ideas to create more interesting photos and videos. Soft boxes can be a great way to get the best out of your camera.

Our photos are mostly shot with a Nikon D300 with a 50mm lens. Using the Live View feature along with a 25' HDMI cable connected to any of our three HD TV's really help with the composition and also allows both of us to review the photo instantly. In addition, We have built a soft box to eliminate the shadows created with flash. I've also invested in a small powerful LED flash light to use as a ring light with the help of a couple of paper plates and tooth pics.

A simple search of Pinterest for DIY soft box, ring light, or diffuser will give you some cheap ways to improve you lighting. After building the soft box, I've concluded it is much simpler to order a couple lights/soft boxes from Amazon for $50. And save on the headaches some DIY projects can cause for a variety of reasons.
Reflectors and mirrors can also help you direct light where you want it to improve your photos. Many local bargain stores cary car window shades with the foil backing for a few bucks. We've salvage a few mirrors from recent home improvement projects. We're going to get creative and not only use the mirrors to reflect light, but also use the reflection for an interesting angle.

We've been discussing doing some toy reviews via blog since we have acquired quite a few lately. And I believe the first one will be right meow!?? ok kids...butt plugs....am I the only one that just finds them impossible to keep from slipping out? Theyre not super tiny starter ones (and not the monsters either ha ha) 3" long and about 1.6 I have a glass one and a silicone/rubbery feel one, same issue with both. Maybe i do need to step up the girth a bit ha ha.
