depotguy's blog post - I'm worried

I have always been critical of large lawns. They really are an enviromental disgrace. That being said.....mine just keeps getting bigger and bigger! I took the tractor out in the field beside the house(It hadn't been cut in 20 years)and it's so damn pretty I want to keep it cut like MORE lawn. I have a 48" deck (making sure I used an e instead of an I) on my lawn tractor and it still takes me 5 hours to mow.

I think part of my problem is this is a way for me to feel like all this is mine. It seems sort of odd to have all this land....being a city boy for so many years.

On other farm news the guineas are getting BIG. When I went down to feed them this morning they were all lined up along the top edge of the box they are in.....so proud. They are 3 weeks old and a beautiful gray blue color. I got 45 new chicks yesterday but 5 have passed on to the big henhouse in the sky. A little sad about that. I tried.

Later peeps.

Mmmm, 48" deck... That's a lot of wood. ;-)

And sorry about the five chicks that died, but you have 40 that are still needing you. It's the way of the farm.

Go with the goats or sheep.
Then you can get milk and make cheese!
