Monday, October 10, 2011, 4:42:48 AM- I should be in bed since I work tomorrow...
But I just had to tell this story. LOL My son and some friends asked if I would set our tent up in the back yard as they wanted to "camp out" since there isn't any school tomorrow. They'd been playing games all night, running around in the dark, and just having fun in general. Finally they decided to all get in the tent. About 11:00, just as I was laying down I heard this blood curdling scream from the back yard followed by a wild commotion. It seems one of the boy's dad had decided to have a little fun with them. He lives just down the street, so he dressed up as "Jason" and slipped up on them. He was peering through the screen window on the tent when one of the boys turned around and saw him. He said they almost made a new door in the other end of the tent. LMAO! I'm taking bets they end up sleeping on the floor in the basement before the night is over. LOL Anyway, I'm off to bed, have a good night ya'all. DC

Wednesday, September 28, 2011, 12:59:34 AM- Internet problems....
I got home from work on Sunday and my wife said the internet was slow. She wasn't kidding, when it would work it took five minutes for Google to load. YIKES!! So I spent a hour on the phone with tech support, who said there was something wrong with the line but they didn't know what. It would be Wednesday (tomorrow) before someone could get here to look at it. So after suffering three days of withdrawals I just happened to notice tonight that a there was a phone plugged in down in the basement. I asked my son who said he plugged it in Sunday just because he noticed it was unplugged. FFS, it's been unplugged for six months, ever since the isolator on the phone went bad and screwed with the internet last time. (For those that don't know if you have DSL coming in over your phone line every phone etc in the house BUT the modem has to have an isolator on it.) He JUST now noticed it wasn't plugged in??? BTW, the phone is in the basement game room where he spends 90% of his time when home. LOL I unplugged the phone and we have internet again, although when I run a speed test it's only 1.5 MPS and we're paying for 3 MPS. So the tech guy is still coming tomorrow to check it out, but at least I can perv again. YEEEEHAW!!!

Sunday, September 18, 2011, 11:18:43 PM- Meh!
I woke up this morning and glanced at the digital alarm clock. 3:25 it says and I was like, great I'm up a half hour early. Then, as the sleep cleared from my brain I noticed two other things. Number one, the sun was shining. Number two, the clock was FLASHING! FFS, I grabbed my cell phone and sure enough, it was 7 AM, a half hour PAST when I was supposed to be at work. We'd lost power sometime during the night and the back up battery in the alarm clock was dead. So I call the boss and say "I just woke up, I'm going to be late today" and he says "You think?" LOL No biggie, but I hate getting to work late and playing catch up all day. GRRRR!!! But I survived the day so all's well that ends well.

Sunday, September 18, 2011, 1:26:17 AM- Concussions...they suck.
No I didn't have one, but my son had a mild one. He's a freshman playing football for the first time, and no, he didn't take a hard hit. Instead during P.E. he got ran over by a bigger kid while playing basket ball and his brain bucket smacked the gym floor pretty good. So when he got to practice after school and was complaining of a throbbing headache the coach asked what happened. My boy tells him and the coach asked if her remembered falling. No, he didn't. Was he tired? Yep, he had been all afternoon. Coach calls me says take him to the doctor, he's probably got a concussion. He did, a mild one. His brains functioning normally...well as normally as a 14 year old boy's does. But no football for two weeks and he was going to start in his first game Monday night. To say he's disappointed is an understatement. I took him and the doctor's note saying he can't even practice or participate in gym for two weeks back to the coach's office, where my son expressed his displeasure in sitting out for two weeks. The coach, Bless his heart, looked my boy right in the eye and said "Son, you've only got one brain and it has to last you the rest of your life. Two weeks your freshman year won't kill you. Watch from the sidelines, learn, and we'll get you back on the field when it's safe, but not a moment before." Which shocked the hell out of me. When I was in school if you knew your name and what day it was they put you back in the game. LOL I also learned that if he has three concussions during his four years of high school he can't play football anymore during high school, and they recommend he stop playing all together. Seems like they are a lot more concerned about the health of the kids these days than when I was in school. Which I'm not complaining about one bit, trust me. DC

Friday, September 9, 2011, 9:31:55 PM- WTF!!!
So we get up this morning, early, so I can take my wife an hour away for a medical procedure. It was routine, same day kind of thing, no big deal. But we had to be there early so they could draw blood for a pregnancy test as they cant do it if she's pregnant. We get there at 8AM and have the blood drawn. Then it's a wait until 2PM when the procedure is scheduled. We went to the mall and walked around a bit, ate some lunch, hung around some more and were just generally waiting for 2PM. It finally arrives and we are called back at around 2:30 (imagine that) and the nurse starts prepping her for the procedure. During the prep she asked a list of questions and my wife answered. She tells us the doctor will be right in and fifteen minutes later she finally does show up. Only to tell us that they can't do the procedure since my wife had a certain surgery four years ago, a fact the doctor noticed when "I was looking over your medical history right before coming in here"... WTF...You wait until forty five minutes after the procedure is scheduled to even look at my wife's long and varied medical history??? For something that was scheduled TWO MONTHS ago??? Yeah, so we wasted a whole fucking day and half a tank of gas to find out.... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! Kinda pissy at the moment if you cant tell. On another note, I once said in the forums that I had never seen a truly ugly pussy. I might have to reconsidered that statement. LOL Have a nice day. DC

Monday, September 5, 2011, 1:18:43 AM- It's been one of those weeks...
...and it's just started. Actually, it started last Weds. I left work early due to muscle spasms in my back. The doctor said it was probably due to muscle strain and gave me some pain pills and told me to visit my chiropractor. He got me right in and had to pop my back in three times before it would stay. When I got home I learned that my cousin and brother who work together as brick masons had been in a work accident. My brother is fine but my cousin got hit by a 600lb stone, smashing him between it and a large generator. He's doing okay, had surgery to put a plate and screws in his pelvis, which was broken in three places. No internal bleeding so he got off lucky really. He'll be off work for six to eight weeks minimum, but should be okay in the long run. I had to work today, since I'm out of sick time, and it was a bitch. Night shift missed production by 17,000 cases, so we'll be all week catching back up. Of course that meant humping ass all day long to get as much caught up as we could. Hopefully they don't miss it again tonight. (( With pain killers and perseverance I made it through the day. I popped an extra one when I got home as I needed to change the oil in my truck and see if I could figure out why the clutch is slipping a bit. Long story short the rear main seal is leaking ( and while I had it jacked up I found the right front wheel bearing is going (which explains the noise I've been hearing the last couple of days). While I'm doing all this my son was mowing the yard and hit a tree root, bending the blade on the mower. ( I'd just bought it this spring. Luckily I had the old blade on hand still so he was able to finish mowing the yard after I changed the blade. The way my luck it going I think I'm going to run out and buy a Lotto ticket, I'm sure to win. *rolls eyes* So.... How's life treating ya'all?
