We've been in a bit of a drought lately. NO rain in July and precious little in August....

until tonight. It started raining about 5pm when I got off work, just a light gentle rain (the kind we need) and it's not really slacked off a bit since.


Damn, I just realized....now I'll have to start mowing the yard again. LOL

I showed that to my son and he didn't get it!!!!

Bow season opens before to long here so I got the compound bow out today and started practicing.

*Note to self- the yellow pin is forty yards, the RED pin is thirty yards*

(Side note- an arrow from a 65lb draw bow at thirty yards WILL penetrate aluminum siding, insulation, and the plywood on the inside of the garage wall)

I shoulda chose the red one. LOL

An Arizona Department of Safety Officer pulled over a pick-up truck owner for a faulty taillight. When the officer approached the driver, the man behind the wheel handed the officer his driver's license, insurance card and a concealed weapon carry permit.

The officer took all the documents, looked them over and said. "Mr Smith, I see you have a CCP. Do you have any weapons with you?" The driver replied " Yes sir, I have a 357 handgun in a hip holster, a .45 in the glove box and a .22 derringer in my boot."

The officer looked at the driver and asked "Anything else?" "Yes sir, I have a Mossberg 500 12 gauge and an AR-15 behind the seat."

The officer asked if the man was driving to or from a shooting range and the man said he wasn't, so the officer bent over and looked into the driver's face and said "Mr Smith, you're carrying quite a few guns. May I ask what you are afraid of?" Mr Smith locked eyes with the officer and calmly answered "Not a fucking thing!"

No, not that kind of baby...


Meet Snickers, so named by the family we got her from. Snickers was given to our neighbor but their small child, six years old, wasn't ready for pets yet and they were worried he was going to hurt her. So they asked if we wanted her.

I didn't really want another cat, so I assured them that their son would just need watched and when the cat got bigger it would stick up for itself.

Then I came outside and saw him stepping on Snickers and decided I wasn't going to take the risk and see the poor thing hurt.

So, now we have a new cat.

Soxs, our 8 year old calico, just hisses at her and runs away. Layla, our four year old Shih zu, hasn't decided if Snickers is a new playmate, or someone to be jealous off getting all our attention. She's shown no signs of hurting the kitten, but gets upset when one of us holds Snickers and doesn't pick her up too.

Although Layla's never been a mother, I think her mothering instincts are kicking in, as she tries to herd Snickers around the house. Once Snickers finds a comfortable spot to lay, Layla will lay there and just watch her, until she gets up and then she's back at the herding thing. LOL

I noticed a tree in the neighbors yard was loosing a lot of leaves.


and not looking very healthy.


Closer inspection found thousands of these little critters


feeding on the leaves. They've decimated this one tree, yet haven't touched any of the others around it so far.

Seems they're Japanese Beetles and are quite a nuisance. I just hope they stay out of my trees. (

I get off work and come home and just sit in the AC and vegitate, LOL.

At the risk of sounding like an old man, I've been sitting on the couch and falling asleep. The warehouse I work in has been like an oven, with temps in some parts reaching 120 degrees.

They give us all the bottled water we can drink and have giant fans to move the air around, but hot air is hot air, even if it is moving.

The extreme heat and humidity just saps you and I go home wiped out at the end of every shift. Add to that the fact I'm working sixty plus hours a week and I'm so tired I can barely stay awake to catch the evening news.

Thank goodness I have tomorrow off. Hopefully I can get caught up on my sleep.

Oh, add to all that a three day phone/internet breakdown and I haven't had time to be on much. But it's back up and working now so maybe I'll get some time soon to do some perving. LOL
