Sunday, May 1, 2011, 12:15:41 AM- Oh to be young again....LOL
My 14 year old son is going on his first date a week from today. So my wife wanted me to have "a talk" with the boy. *rolls eyes* I'm not bragging when I say that I'm a lot more open to this kind of discussion than my Dad was. I've told him since he first started showing an interest in girls that he could come to me with any questions he has and I would answer them. She wanted me to tell him all about the birds and bees, which is a talk he and I had a LONG time ago. She also wanted me to get him some condoms. So here is my question, how young is to young to protect your child? I know kids are kids and are going to experiment, and he's way to young to be a dad. Not to mention I'm way to young to be a grandparent. Should I just give them to him, or perhaps leave some laying around somewhere so that he'll find them? We're both a bit worried that if we just give them to him he might take that as permission to become sexually active. He swears to me, and I believe him, that he's not. Any thoughts on the issue? Tuesday, April 26, 2011, 4:19:54 AM- Having good neighbors is great!!
So about 930pm tonight I jump in my truck to run to the gas station for some more smokes and half way there the windshield wipers quit. WTF!! They just stopped. Luckily it was just a light drizzle so I was able to get there without hitting anyone or anything. I popped the hood and when I checked the connector it was tight, but just wiggling it made them start working again. Okay thinks I, the plug had loosened up some, no big deal. First big bump I hit (it's Illinois, we have LOTS of bumps in our roads) they stop working again. GRRRRRR!!! Auto parts places are all closed and I have to leave the house at 5AM for work. So now I'm royally fucked, and not in a good way. So I'm muttering and cussing under my breath as I take the truck half apart just to get the wiper motor out (whoever designs vehicles ought to have to work on the damn things) and my neighbor walks up, the one that's the television repair guy. Anyway, he's like me, works on his own vehicles and together we get the part out. Now we have to figure out why it's not working. First thing he does is go and get a multimeter and start testing the wires on the truck...all good. Which means it's in the motor, which isn't good. Until I notice it's got a little panel on the side of the box holding the electronics and remove it. Guess what, a solder connection on the circuit board is broken. Since that's right up his alley he resolders it and we put it back in. Works like a new one. ) Saved me a day off work and $232 for a new motor. So I tested it out by running back to the gas station and buying him a case of beer. He works cheep too, he drinks Keystone. LOL. DC

Sunday, April 24, 2011, 3:29:47 AM- It did sound like a war today...
We killed three boxes of blue rocks (90 to a box) and around 250 shotgun shells. Yep, somebody did some missing from time to time, LOL. Some of the clays got shot at twice, as we had the kids pick up the survivors and had another go at them. We had five teenagers shooting, my son, three nephews and one niece. It was her first time and she did okay, breaking about 50%. Not bad for a beginner. We shot up 100 9mm rounds, 100 .40 caliber rounds, 250 (at least) .22 rounds, 20 .30-30 rounds, 20 .270 rounds, and I got my new .50 black powder rifle sighted in. Everyone had to try it, even my niece, so we shot it about 25 times, lol. That's one dead piece of plywood, I gar-on-tee. ) We ate until we couldn't hold anymore, shot some, ate again, sat around and chatted and played some games, then ate some more, etc. All in all a wonderful day. And since my ex sister-in-law is now and EX and wasn't there, there wasn't even any drama this time, LOL. Since my brother divorced her every family gathering has lacked one element that used to be at all of them, and that was some kind of argument or fight. It's amazing the amount of shit one person can stir up. I've got a sore shoulder and one of my nephews has a black eye from when he kept getting to close to the scope on my .270. We warned him a couple of times... bet he doesn't do that again. A least he didn't need stitches like my youngest brother did a few years ago. That .270 kicks and he didn't realize how far back the scope would come. LOL So I've got a full belly, had a wonderful day, and I'm headed to bed before too long. Oh, almost forgot the most important thing. When we got out of the van Dad was out in the yard. I asked if he checked the old mushroom patch and he said no. So we took the kids and headed out. Found ten pounds in about a half an hour and got to teach the kids how to spot mushrooms and which ones are safe to eat and which aren't. So now we'll be having mushrooms for supper tomorrow night. I can't wait. ))

Well the mandatory overtime got canceled so we're off to my folks. Today is Dad's birthday and since I work tomorrow we're doing our Easter get together too. Two birds with one stone and all that you know. Lots of good food and we'll be doing a little of what rednecks like doing most...NO, not drinking, LOL. Shooting. Everyone's bringing their "toys" and we'll be shooting the shit outta tin cans and blue rocks. So if your in Greene County and you hear what sounds like a war going on... relax, it's just us rednecks playin'. C Ya. DC

Friday, April 22, 2011, 12:47:38 AM- What a week. :(
My wife had worked for the social service agency she was employed at for fourteen years, one month, and four days.... until today. At 4:45, fifteen minutes before quitting time my wife's boss, the Executive Director, called her into her office and handed her a letter of termination. She cited poor job performance as the reason, yet after our trip to the Mayo clinic last fall her performance reviews have all cited drastic improvement over the previous six months. She's had a good cry or three since she got home and has taken an extra Clonazepam and is now sleeping. Ah well, to be honest, even though I'm not happy with the situation it may be for the best. Her disability had worsened over the last couple of years and the daily grind of the 8 to 5 was wearing on her. She was an Assistant Director and had responsibility for overseeing two satellite offices. She was required to travel at least once a week to each office and that was tiring for her also. She'd been talking about apply for disability, as several doctors have told her that working full time is to hard on her. But due to the way it is administered she had to quit her job or be out of work for six months prior to applying. Hopefully we'll be able to make ends meet with unemployment until she gets disability. It will be a major change for her as she's worked since she graduated college and never been unemployed since then. I just feel bad for her, as I know what it feels like to loose a job through no fault of your own. It's a shock, as she'd had no indication at all that her job was in jeopardy. Her recent quarterly evaluations had all cited glowing improvement over the previous six months (when she was having major health issues) and even commended her on several changes she'd made lately that made all the staffs' jobs easier. Yet the letter of termination said just the opposite, calling her unreliable and saying that she showed a lack of leadership skills. FFS, she's been doing the same job for 14 years and all the staff love her. It was like Grand Central Station around here for about the last hour or so, as she had ten different staff members she supervised come by to offer their condolences and tell her they'd miss her. I figure if ten out of twenty three staff members she supervised think she was doing a 'damned good job' as one put it, she couldn't have been fucking up that bad. Fuck, seems like every time I blog lately it's bad news. LOL So here's something to make you smile...

Wednesday, April 20, 2011, 11:01:27 PM- There are times I hate my boss...
...and then there are times I despise the fat lazy bastard. This is one of those times. Long story short, I volunteered to work an extra ten hour shift on Friday, one of my three days off, as I could use the extra money. Then the worthless sack of shit mandates me for another ten hours on Saturday, the day my whole family was getting together for Easter (since I work Sundays). When I pointed out that I was already signed up for Friday he says "I know, but we are mandating everyone for an extra ten hours this week as orders have come in heavy." I say I'm already signed up for an extra ten and he says "So you'll be working two days of OT this week." FAT WORTHLESS LAZY FUCKING TUB OF SHIT!!! Sorry, just venting. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! One of these days..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUOVv99CZqA

Tuesday, April 19, 2011, 3:26:14 AM- Do you believe in ghost?
My son just came running downstairs and said that he saw someone looking in his window. He was at his computer playing a game when he felt like he was being watched and glanced up to see the outline of a person at his window. Now his room is on the second floor so either the person is approx. 20 foot tall or... I asked him to describe this person and he said it was a man and he was wearing a blue shirt. So we go back upstairs and I have him sit at his computer and glance at the window again to see if he sees anything... he did. His own reflection. My first clue was "a blue shirt" since that's what color of shirt my son has on. LMAO....kids. *rolls eyes*

Tuesday, April 12, 2011, 2:37:16 AM- Okay....WTF????
UCannotBeSerious "Yeah, while she keeps putting out, you'll stick with it. When she won't or can't service you, what then?" May last blog update garnered this response, so I thought I'd go ahead and answer it's question. You know nothing about me or my life. You think I'm still with my wife because of the awesome sex life. LMAO First, we've been married nearly 20 years now, and believe me, there are times when we didn't have a sex life. My wife's disability, her multiple surgeries, her medical problems and the fact she's been on anti depressants since she was 12 years old have often led to little to no sex for extended periods. Believe me, my dick and my right hand are well acquainted. So in answer to your question, no I won't leave, even if we never had sex again. Would I be happy with that situation? HELL NO! But I love her, despite her problems, just like she loves me despite mine. Trust me, I'm far from perfect. Love is real, and I hope some day you find it. Maybe then you won't be so bitter.

Monday, April 11, 2011, 12:43:35 AM- Love Don't Run
My wife asked me last night why I stayed with her through all her medical problems. She wanted to know why I hadn't found some "able bodied" woman who could do all the things she can't. She reminded me that before we got married she promised me that if she ever got to be a burden to me that she would leave. She said she felt like she had become a burden, and that I would be better off without her. This was my answer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZo-_OM5rF4 "Love don't run, love don't hide it won't turn away or back down from a fight. Baby I'm right here and I'm not going anywhere Love's to tough, it won't give up, no not on us. Baby love don't run." And today I got to thinking, how many relationships could be saved if both parties had this attitude? Sure there are those that are not worth fighting for. But those others, those that fail because we just give up.... those are a damned shame. Don't run, don't give up. Some things are worth fighting for. DC

Friday, April 8, 2011, 1:36:29 AM- Haven't been on much...
I've been working all the overtime I can lately, trying to save up a little before my wife's surgery. Hopefully, if all goes well, I won't have to take much time off. Her surgery is scheduled for May 5th, one day before her 40th birthday. We talked about postponing it a week, but she just wants to get it over with ASAP. I don't blame her either. Also, she made a remark that this gets her out of any birthday bash I had planned. (She knows me to well, and told me I wouldn't have to buy any foam tombstones, or black decorations, or order a cake shaped like a coffin now.) Of course, I wasn't going to...not BEFORE the surgery, as I think that would be bad taste. But after she's recovered, it'll be game on. Better late and all that. LOL Besides, she won't be expecting it than. BWAHAHAHAHAH!!!
