Has it really been nearly a week since I last logged on. So much as happened. Guess I'll just give you the simple version.

Last Friday my son got married. Saturday morning, the happy couple flew to Thailand. They must be having a good time because we've only gotten one email saying they arrived safely! But that all we neede to hear after a 28 hour flight.

They got married by their best friend who got his license on the internet. A very interesting service. The party afterwards went well into the early hours of the morning.

Our house seemed to be packed with relatives from everywhere. East coast, west coast and parts in between. Everyone is finally gone. It'll be one long hard weekend I won't easily forget. Who would have guessed that I was the most emotional one of all the parents. Duh!

I forgot to mention it all happened during a tornado warning !

This may be my last update for a while because all the relatives start arriving tomorrow for my son's Wedding which is Friday. I never knew how stressful doing a wedding can be. You just assume someone else takes care of the details!

Things are getting more complex with the wedding just a few days away. My son's best man just called me from Washington DC to invite me to dinner on Wednesday. It's nice to fill in demand!

Our guys night out at the casino began with a surprise.. I was driving which meant they were drinking & I'd be the safe bet to be sure everyone got home.

We started out with a great steak dinner and there was no surprise that us two dads got to split the bill. We quickly moved over the casino where the real action was. I had never left a casino losing money (playing blackjack) but tonight was going to change that. I plopped down $100 and started doing my percentages in my head.

I was down to almost nothing when my luck changed and found myself hammering up to over $300 in just a few minutes. I'm a quiet gambler while other are screaming and having fun. Money is too serious to me so it's just not fun. We played for over 3 hours. In the end I lost all the money I brought. Think of it as entertainment.

It was about 1:00 a.m. by the time I walked in the house. Everyone had long been asleep. This was the big weekend before my son's wedding. Somehow I thought maybe ... just maybe there might have been sex involved but real life just gets in the way doesn't it?

Last night my daughter arrived home safe & sound from London in a rain storm that could only be described as a wall of water. What I wouldn't give to be young again and live for today.

Today we had the rehearsal for my son's wedding. It was more of just a walk through but you can definitely feel the urgency to get everything set now because the planning days are over. It's time to just get it done.

The women have already left for their ladies night out. I leave in about 5 minutes to begin the men's night out. We're off to the casino and whatever afterwards! Talk to you guys tomorrow!

We had the A/C on then we turned it off because it got too cool outside. Today the heat is building yet again. It's too late to turn it on now. In the morning we'll turn it on and everything will be nice & chilly by the time I get home.

My daughter arrives home from London tomorrow night at 10:00. Life gets back to family life I guess. She'll only be here a week or two before she moves into her new apartment. Thank God!

One week to go until my son's wedding. Am I getting old or what?

Yesterday I was certainly a basket case after not sleeping for several days. But last night I crashed hard and never woke up for the entire night. OMG! Now I know how it feels to get a full nights sleep.

You just wouldn't appreciate what I'm saying unless you have the same problem!

OMG! Today was one rough day. Not work wise but my head was throbbing from lack of sleep. Damn, I'm glad its over. he good news is that it's a short 4 day work week isn't it?

I better get some decent zzz's tonight or tomorrow will be worse.

It wasn't suppose to rain until last night or Today. So far its rained every day! If it wasn't for the massive amount amount of home improvement jobs I'd be climbing the walls.

Our trip yesterday afternoon got canceled even as we were driving west. We just turned around. Good thing wee hadn't gotten too far out of town.

It's hot and sticky with tons of humidity so my wife took a late shower. I quickly set out to create a little romance by lighting 6 or 7 lighted candles. When she finished her shower and saw what I had done her only response was that I was thinking only of myself. She layed there for moment before getting up, grabbed a robe and went downstairs to be by herself.

I went to talk to her even though I wanted to scream at her instead. Trying to take high road so difficult. The only thing I said during our discussion is that it'll be a long time before I try anything like that again

She said that I'll most likely hold this against her for a long time and I'll be moody all Sunday thus she be paying the price. I lied and said I won't be moody. What else could I say? However, I felt so completely 100% rejected that I find myself in deep hole with no way out. What did I do that was so wrong?

The worst part is I see all these NN members having fun and sharing experiences and I what this too. Isn't that just human nature?

It's been a few says just I last logged on so maybe that gives you an idea how crazy ny last few days have been.

This is Memorial Day weekend here in the us. That means everyone has 3 days off in a row. Yes, even me. Most everyone would be out having a little fun but yesterday was one busy home improvement day.

I re-stained out deck and fence. We even removed a bathroom door and completed stripped all the paint off. This morning I sand it sand it down, prime it and paint. This afternoon we travel west 120 miles to visit my son whose wedding is rapidly approaching.

Our loves life is non-existent because we're both just worn out. The good news is I haven't smoked a cigarette since last Sunday. Tomorrow will be one week. This is hard. It's undeniable that we are a bit short wee each other. This task is still in progress. I wasn't a heavy smoker, maybe 6-8 a day but still.. it's a daunting challenge. I know its the right thing to do but I'd start back in flash if given the opportunity.

My daughter flew to Dublin, Ireland yesterday. She stay there another day before returning to London Tomorrow. She flies home on Friday. Meanwhile here traveling friends all left their cars here at the house.. It looks like we're running a used car lot.
