I walked in the door at home after work and I knew something was wrong right away... no power! Neighbors told me it has been out since 11:00 this morning. Oh God the house was hot. Lucky for me 15 minutes later the power went on and the AC was whirling away trying to cool the house. It's better now but another few hours will be needed to really get this place back to normal.

We had a garage sale yesterday. Sales were only so so at about $200 but our basement is really cleaned up now. A lot of what wasn't sold was boxed up and taken directly to goodwill. A tax write off will have to do this year. Some stuff was taken to the dumpster!

It was so hot outside I thought we were going to die. Today wasn't much better but a little. We spent some time at the local Renaissance Festival. it was fun but being the last day of the event, crowds were small

It's June & It's Hot! What else is new. I just haven't been able to drop in for a few days... it seems like weeks!

All of a sudden I get a call from my daughter. She's in town and will be here in a few minutes. There goes my Thursday fun!

Monday, May 30, 2011, 11:20:38 PM- Memorial Day

First of all I need to pay thanks to every person who has ever served our country. For me, that includes my father & brother. Sometimes I feel guilty for having never served in the military. I do think about the sacrifices everyone has made over the years.

This morning it was wonderful to see both of my grown children running in a 10K run. In fact, this was the first time ever that both had entered the same event. So that fuzzy warm feeling that occurs doesn't stop at the end of little league ball games. It continues forever it seems.

Later on in the afternoon I too my own rather intense bike ride in the heat of the afternoon. I am lucky to have everyone healthy including myself. There I was working it pretty good in the heat and felt great doing it. Yes, I am lucky when I stop and think about it.

We have a plastic storage locker on our back deck. Inside there were a zillion ants that came from somewhere. Quickly I Googled Kill Ants and discovered if you take a sprayer filled with a mixture of soap and water it'll kill them instantly!

OMG! It worked!!! Then I just washed them away with the hose. The Internet is good for something besides perving too!

The Memorial day weekend is underway and so far everything has been fairly quiet. The house is packed most of the time with plenty people coming and going.

I'm not quite sure what to do with myself with 3 days off in a row. It just doesn't happen very often.

It's hot here and now I'm trying to figure out what I can do inside for a while. There's got to be a vacation in my future... anything would do! But sorry to say nothing is planned.

This weekend has been productive in terms of household chores, maintenance etc.. My love life sucks and that isn't going to change any time in this decade.

I put in a half day's work at the office... the last Saturday until after Labor day. When I got home I mowed 4 different lawns. If only I got paid for that! But I still had just enough energy for a15 mile bike ride.

The rain has moved out of the area. At last I see some sun & it warms my soul. That's always a good thing. Even though it's a Monday this week isn't starting off as a crappy one.

Now to further clear my mind I find it helpful to stop thinking and just go out and mow the lawn.
