Thursday, August 20, 2009, 2:00:17 AM- The real deal and the Tuxedo

You know the magic day is just around the corner when you pick up your tuxedo for the wedding. Yep! My daughter is getting married this Saturday.

Tomorrow the first of the out of town relatives start arriving. So tonight will be my last day visiting NN until let's say... Sunday. But I'll be busy being the father of the bride. Who could ask for anything more?

It seems the house is empty this afternoon for at least an hour or two. There was work to be done since it was pouring outside. But somewhere along the way I got side tracked and found myself on NN. Go figure that!

Now I can't wait for this weekend to just be over. But soon we'll have relatives coming into town from across the country and they will surely migrate to our house before & after the big event. Yikes! I better get back to work.

On the other hand My wife and daughter aren't working this week. So in a way I'll be escaping by going to work. Yeah! That's not a bad deal after all!

Everything is set for next weeks big wedding. Today we finished all the yard work & that wasn't exactly easy. That shower afterwards sure felt good!

My Saturday night was a big fat zero. What good is a Saturday night without a little TLC? Oh she promised something in the morning but she would have said anything to just side step the entire issue.

So now my very fragile ego as been pushed closer to the edge. The edge of what? I'm not sure but it feels like punishment to me. I love my wife but I also have trouble understanding her.

Sunday, August 16, 2009, 12:40:15 AM- Bachelor party

I just spent the good part of this afternoon & early evening at a bachelor party being thrown for my new soon to be son in law. Let's say I drank my own good portion but left before the real fun started. It just wouldn't be right for the father of the bride to hear all these wild stories. No even me!

But still I had a good time being out with the guys. They were have my age and just made me feel young again. It'll be an all nighter for sure!

Saturday, August 15, 2009, 12:36:28 PM- Move completed!

I was impressed how the young couple managed to drive 3 hours, move & set up all their belongings, furniture in their new apartment and yet drive back returning their rented truck in record time. All without a fuss.

Last night all we did chill out in front of TV. We watched "Field of Dreams" and it really affected me for some untold reason. It had to do with unanswered issues with my own father. He was always in such perfect shape until he died unexpectedly a few years back. I didn't realize how badly I wanted him to see his grand daughter get married next weekend.

It was sad evening for me personally although I wouldn't admit it. Why does he affect me the way he does years after his passing? It shows that deep down that I really did care for him so much.

Friday, August 14, 2009, 12:14:46 PM- They left this morning!

We loaded the truck well into the night. It must have been 10:00 pm when we finished and put the padlock on the rear door of the truck. At 7 this morning the house was a whirl of activity. A few minutes the engine of the truck roared to life and they pull away to drive the 3 hours to their place.

It was sad seeing them begin their new life adventure. They won't be gone long. They're scheduled to return by 9:00 tonight. See, they will always returned. The wedding is next weekend. Relatives start arriving from out of down as early as Thursday. OMG! This is the beginning of all our plans!

They've got the big truck out picking up a washer &dryer. When they return home (soon) we get to load the rest of their belongings for my daughter's move tomorrow morning. OMG! It's hot outside too! At last I'll get to sweat off a few extra pounds.

But today I'm already tired. Work wasn't easy. Call it job security if you will but it was still a stressful day. But life has a way of evening everything out. The good with the bad.

Thursday, August 13, 2009, 12:25:35 PM- The clock is now ticking!

Everything goes into full swing starting today. Next weekend is the wedding but today's first move is exactly that.. a move!

At lunch time I'll go with my daughter to pick up the rented truck. A big one! We will pack it completely tonight and tomorrow morning they will drive to their new city with most everything they own. However, they'll have to leave behind enough for one week and of course their honeymoon to South Beach.

By this time tomorrow morning my back will be killing me. It's not what it used to be. Today... there's a smile on my face!

Tuesday, August 11, 2009, 12:05:19 PM- Sample Test!

We were getting ready for bed and my wife was still in the bathroom. I was just laying on the bed naked with the sheets pulled back. When she came out of the bathroom she took one glance in my direction and quickly blurted out "That's just plain gross, pull up those sheets. I don't want to see that!"

Well how do you think I felt after that? Earlier in the evening she kept asking me why I was so grumpy, so unhappy. Am I supposed to just say because you make me feel so undesirable? Maybe that's what I should have done except to keep the peace I kept quiet.

Whenever this subject does come up her response is usually something like "whatever I do is never good enough" and you don't appreciate everything else I do for you.

OMG! I didn't ask for sex or anything. i just wanted to gauge what she migtht say. I wasn't surprised.
