What an absolutely gorgeous late April day! It feels more like late May. We are supposed to have this weather untill at least Wed. I haven't seen the forecast beyond that.
I HAD to be outside today, there was NO way I could possibly stay indoors.
I put shorts on about mid morning, by lunch I decided I was going to bbq. Quick in and out the back door one would think not requiring shoes at all. Light the bbq take a wander around the fence, check out the lilacs and note the buds are coming along nicely. Venture a little further to take a good look at the tiger lilies which are now up a good 3".
Back to the bbq.
I went back into the house when the meat was cooked and made potato salad and a carrot salad, dinner was prepped before 1 pm.
I had to go out front now because the sun had come around. I really only intended to sit on the step for a bit and enjoy the sun but that damn garden looked like it needed a good raking. Grab the rake and proceede to rake not only the garden but half the front yard and all of the back yard.
Time to think about starting a few seeds indoors.
Open the garage, haul out the planters, back into the house for the seeds, garage again for the potting soil. Get all of that sorted with the help of a couple of little hands.
Back to the step to have a another beer and just enjoy the sun a bit.
I now have a bit of a sunburnt face and very dirty feet because not once did it occur to me to put shoes on.
After the winter we had it feeels soooooooooo good to not have to worry about something as mundane as shoes.
I know it can and probably will get cold again before the opressive heat and humidity arrive.
However I thoroughly enjoyed my first day without shoes this year.

Rather than tell people there is no cam room on NN you have to be cute and say hit alt f4 for cams.
Really, what kind of pleasure do you get from that?
I have seen some mods use that line regularly.
Isn't that nice?

I am not by any means a religious person.
There are a few people I have been missing, those who have moved on, left this world.
Those I would love to connect with but am not sure I can.
Several of them were very religious.
I think I might go.
Sit in a church,
if nothing else I will enjoy an hr of peace.
Best case scenario I will connect again.

the diversity this world and this site brings, there really is something to be said for going home.
We have a constant opportunity to interact with the globe here and elsewhere online. We are a very fortunate group to be exposed to so much so easily. This exposure brings us knowledge generations before couldn't have imagined. I would hope with this knowledge comes acceptance and tollerance.
In this huge web we dwell in more often than not we meet people outside of our geographic area and perhaps outside of our comfort zone.
We meet, we learn and we accept, if we are wise, those who are different than we are.
Every now and then we will encounter people we are "familiar" with even if we have met them for the first time.
Technologically our world has shrunk. Psychologically I sometimes wonder if it is all to much to take in.
Three canucks took over chat for a lil bit tonight, we didn't intend to exclude anyone. We just happened to connect to what was familiar.
Exploring is good, remembering your roots is also good.

My daughters appointment was today. We got there on time but then had to wait, which is typical with many Dr's but not usually mine. We flipped thru all the magazines in the waiting room before being called in.
I could hear him having a long chat with the patient in the other room and got up after a few minutes to look out the window.
This is when it got interesting. I must have missed what happened initially but what I did see was a woman in a brand new white car fly around the parking lot to confront a woman in a blue van. The woman in the van opened her window when the woman in the white car came over. You could tell they were having a heated argument when out of nowhere white car woman reaches in to bitch slap ms blue van.
White car then took of at a run to her car and got in just in time with blue van and who I assumed to be her mom in hot pursuit.
Blue van was so mad she kicked in the door of the brand new white car, then she got back in her van while her "mom" stayed to holler at white car. Eventually "mom" got back in the van and white car pulled up right behind the van so they couldn't move.
Blue van then got out and marched into the clinic. This is when pretty much everyone in the parking lot felt they had to get involved. White car decided to move, so when blue van came out she was backing out ready to leave when the police showed up.
This is when the Dr. decided to grace us with his presence. He gave us a sort of timid hello, we turned and told him he had missed the fight and that the police had just showed up.
Next thing he has his nose pressed to the window while we describe what happened.
Eventually we did get down to business and my daughter has been referred to an allergist. We go there at the end of the month.
By the time we were leaving the clinic a second police car had arrived. If we didn't have a bus to catch I'd have stayed to see the end.

I make acquaintances easily.
I do not make friends easily.
Sometimes it will take minutes before I allow you into my world. Instinct and circumstance have in general worked well for me.
Sometimes it takes much, much longer.
In most cases it isn't because we have issues with each other it is just a case of we haven't had for whatever reason the opportunity to interact.
My NN friends list means nothing in the true sense of the word. I don't give a shit who adds me, you request, I will add.
What does matter are the people I have chosen and who have chosen me to spend real time with.
Real friends don't need acknowledgement in cyber space, they know they have a place in my life.
I made a new real friend tonight, after many months of saying hi, we had a great conversation.
Quietly blessed.
Some you will hear about some you will never know.
I know where my friends are and they know where I am,
