I went to Melbourne last week because I had pressured my son in law to buy a shed on ebay which was quite cheap. Melbourne is about 1100km south of where I live in Newcastle. I actually organised it so I could meet some friends on nn whom I had never eyeballed. It was well worth the organising and the money (my son in law paid my expenses) but the couple were just as engaging and welcoming as one could ever ask for. I felt I had known them for ages, were super friendly, we had a scrumptious meal and really enjoyed the fellowship; so for me the trip was an outstanding success. I hope they felt the same way.
