Thursday, April 27, 2006, 12:24:24 PM- This weekend
Marks the tenth anniversary of the massacre at Port Arthur, a one time penal colony and a National Historic site that demonstrated more than anything, man's inhumanity to man, a bit like Abu Grade 300 years later. Ten years ago this Sunday a lone gunman went on a rampage and shot 35 people dead, one a six year old girl, and injured 25 and after an overnight seige was captured and arrested and is now serving a triple life term, never to be released. The upshot from that was the buy-back of semi automatic weapons, shotguns and military weapons and by complimentary legislation from each state of the federation, made it illegal to own anything more than a single shot .22 rifle Thank God Australia had the guts to stand up to the gun lobby and ban the use of such weapons. When we are constantly bombarded with bullshit about the greatest democracy in the world, I thank God every night that I live here and not over there where my mum was born where life is apparently so cheap.

Wednesday, April 26, 2006, 11:32:50 PM- I felt fucked
I overnighted out of Melbourne, I stopped every two hours, drank enough pristine so called spring bottled water to ensure I stopped for a piss at regular intervals and ate on time as Diabetics need to; each time I stopped, I felt so knotted up I couldn't sleep anyhow so I kept driving. It is very important to stop every two hours and have a break, if you feel fatigued, the only cure for it is sleep; it is useless opening the drivers window or turning up the radio. It took me 13 hours to drive the 4WD and the 2 tonne of trailer home, I slept all day Monday and most of Tuesday, except for my exercise, browsing nn, and went to Gym yesterday(Wed) so now I am back to normal. The wife is home and all is quiet.

Tuesday, April 25, 2006, 9:58:43 PM- I must confess
the couple i visited on Sunday was Rollergirl and her hubby, she is a very attractive girl and I would think her hubby to be so lucky to snare a beaut shiela like her. Since she doesn't post pics, I can say she is wonderful both outside and within and was honoured to meet her and her hubby. The lunch/dinner was great and as a lesson for other women, when your husband is cooking, keep out of the kitchen and the food is guaranteed to be delicious

Today is Anzac day in Australia, a bit like Veterans Day in America, a day we recognise as one of fellowship and fighting with our friends across the Tasman, New Zealand. We joined forces and fought side by side with the Kiwis 91 years ago at Galipoli in the WW1 and have joined with them in many theatres of war since then, including Korea, Malaya, Borneo, Vietnam and in peacekeeping in the Sinai, Bouganville, Solomon Islands, Australia is also in Afghanistan and Iraq. Let us just stop and remember for a moment the ones who have given their lives for the freedom we enjoy today

Tuesday, April 25, 2006, 1:19:46 AM- Friends
I went to Melbourne last week because I had pressured my son in law to buy a shed on ebay which was quite cheap. Melbourne is about 1100km south of where I live in Newcastle. I actually organised it so I could meet some friends on nn whom I had never eyeballed. It was well worth the organising and the money (my son in law paid my expenses) but the couple were just as engaging and welcoming as one could ever ask for. I felt I had known them for ages, were super friendly, we had a scrumptious meal and really enjoyed the fellowship; so for me the trip was an outstanding success. I hope they felt the same way.

Tuesday, April 18, 2006, 9:57:24 PM- God it is quiet around here
no one geting kicked around, it is all very pleasant and sociable and everyone in agreement most of the time. Of course I am the only one here, with the wife and older daughter in Tasmania on stress related holidays. Where is the stress? There is only me here! Must be the dog and cat that cause the stress. I have read through the list, done all the chores except putting the vacuum cleaner through the house - I just swept up the mess, couldn't find the dustpan, so I did what any level headed person would do in such a situation I swept it under the lounge and put the mat over it. Talk to you on Monday! xxxx

Monday, April 17, 2006, 9:25:56 PM- If confession is good for the soul.........
then does it follow that chilli is good for the digestive system, after all it only burns twice, at the entry point and the departure point. Being married to an Indian woman for 36 years (37 on 20 June) I have acquired a taste for chilli, in fact I can't eat a meal without it. We have relatives that we stare at in absolute awe, as they sit ouside to eat near the chilli bush then pick their chillis straight from the bush and eat them seeds and all. My wife is a bit more refined and stews them with mustard oil, garlic, ginger, and onion and the whole house reeks of Chilli for a week; she then hot-bottles it and that will last us for most of the year or we supplement it with Nando's Extra Hot sauce. I had a bout of Gastritis, or an imflammation on the lining of the stomach, caused by gobbling anti-inflammatories for my crook back last year and the chilli I eat is well diluted with tomato sauce or ketchup as the Americans call it. Americans eat dried beans which I believe is a dietry thing imported from south of the border, (Hey Lunna!!). My brother in law used work for an Inland Food Company in California and brought home samples of dried and refried beans which he used live on; to say they tasted like shit is a compliment, people who put disgusting stuff like that into their digestive system have no taste buds or respect for their digestive system. I think possibly horse shit would have a better flavour, even without the obligitory chilli!! There is nothing nicer than a piece of KFC or an American Hot Dog with a nice preserved chilli on top, it is something I believe they would serve in heaven, if only to remind the inmates of what the alternative could have been. I f confession is good for the soul, then my stomach lining has a nice clean look to it, I can thoroughly recommend it!

my wife has gone to Tasmania for a week with my older daughter and nothing brings home the emotional and passionate presence of your partner than when you are seperated from them, thank God it is only for 5 days. I am not renown for saying much when she is here, but she has only been gone a couple of hours and I am missing her already. I am going to Melbourne on Wednesday arvo myself, so that will lessen the lonliness, my young daughter has invited me for dinner tonight, then I can come home and take a pill and have a good night sleep. I have a list made out of all the chores she wants done before she gets back, so I certainly wont be idle as it all needs to be done before Wednesday arvo.
