Thursday, August 22, 2013, 6:38:22 AM- There's nothing to do :(
When I was very very young, I said those very words to my Daddy. I was about 8 years old. I know I was about that age because it was the time I was given my first bike. All of the kids were outside playing and I walked in while he was reading his newspaper and I said "Daddy, there's nothing to do" My dad told me if I didn't find something to do, he would find it for me. Well I didn't and he did. Boy did he! He had me rake leaves, pull weeds and fold the laundry. I never once uttered those words again. Thus began the hobbies and my adventures. The statements "I'm bored" and "There's nothing to do" are one in the same. My assistant was at his desk when I heard him say that he was bored waiting for the reports to come in. I walked out of my office and told him that I could find some things for him to do. Like the lesson my Dad taught me those many years ago, my assistant now knows how it feels to learn the same lesson and will not be saying that he is bored any longer. In my world, there is always something to do and many ways I can get hurt doing them......lol.

Wednesday, August 21, 2013, 9:54:11 PM- A phone call. (non emergency of course)
How do I deal with someone who refuses to hold a proper and decent conversation during a phone call? If you are angry and you choose to start yelling and cussing at me when I am keeping my calm demeanor and composure.....well.......my choice is to make one polite statement. "Sir/Ma'am, call back when you can keep a civil tongue" *click* BAM! That is how I roll.

Tuesday, August 20, 2013, 6:46:45 PM- You have boobs. Deal with it.
When I was young, my sister G (may she rest in peace) told me to prepare for life and boobs. G had huge globes...I mean those suckers were BIG. She told me that she was comfortable knowing that men stared at them. Her advice to me was to think of them as ornaments....beautiful and hanging nicely.....lol. Today a co-worker told me that while I was talking to a group of visitors, one of the men kept staring at my chest. I told my co-worker that as long as boobs remain in existence, men will stare at them. Mother Nature and God put them there and visible for many reasons. I have an open mind and don't consider it sexist to stare at a woman's chest. I mean, they do stick out and are hard to miss. Hell, from to time I am in awe of some hooters and will stare too. It isn't degrading and as long as the men don't drool and reach for them. I am fine knowing that an occasional look is given to them. Of course if they stare too long I do speak up and say something snarky, yet kind. I like to think back about that night and the pep talk with my sister. She was so open, honest and funny. I grin each time I play in my mind, her words "You have boobs, deal with it"

Tuesday, August 20, 2013, 12:19:52 AM- Blog Challenge "School Re-uNNion"
Ahhhhh the beginning of school for me.....fun and play. Fun and play? Not really. Being the youngest girl I was always living in my sisters shadows. It didn't matter what kind of student they were. If they were bad, I would hear "I wonder if you are going to be as bad as your sister" or "Why can't you be as good as your sister?" NO MATTER which group I began to hang out with I would be introduced as "this is so and so's sister" I joined every group there was! A gang, the bookworms, the nerds, the socialites, the sports gurus and the surfers. But still.....the shadows followed! It is rough following in the footsteps of so many sisters. I may have been known by all but no one ever knew me....they knew my sisters. My Dad and my best friend knew me the best. But once I entered college I was me! I loved being a college co-ed. I enjoyed the fact that I could walk into a classroom and not hear "Aren't you so and so's sister?" I was happy, free, and growing by leaps and bounds. I concentrated on my studies of Criminal Justice while becoming the woman I wanted to be. I dressed how I wanted to dress and talked to those who interested me. Not because I wanted to fit in. I always had a book in m hand. Getting my degree was hard but I smiled all of the way through it. It was my choice to be there. I was working on my future. When you look forward to something, you can't help but smile. Monday, August 19, 2013, 5:07:59 AM- The best come back ever!
I was at the grocery store and the couple in front of me started debating who has it worse...men or women. (Now they were not discussing babies.....that is a given) They were going back and forth about some things: Men and women shave certain areas. Men now pluck their brows or get waxed. Men openly wear women's lingerie and ladies shoes and women wear men's clothing. Both do primping as they get ready and both wear constricting underwear at times. So what was left? The man said "See both sexes primp and face the same uncomfortable things women face. No one has it worse than the other sex" The wife made one comment: "I dare you to put a tampon up your ass for a few hours" ***crickets***

Sunday, August 18, 2013, 4:16:18 AM- All week....no time.
This is how I have been feeling for the last week or so. Too sleepy to perv, read blogs or play in status. And I do miss reading the blogs! I go through withdrawals! I start off reading them, but then realize there is work to do and log off. No time for fun yet. It has been very busy at work and still busy at home with what I bring home from work...lol. I have taken on another task at work and have been doing what I need to do in order to get certified on a new project. One of these days a man will come along and reign me in. If that happens, I promise to devote my time on social activities. One can dream....and I do. So HI everyone! I will catch up soon!

Saturday, August 17, 2013, 4:53:45 AM- Lefties
My youngest son called today. We were chatting away when he told me that a woman asked him about being a left handed writer. Evidently my son had to move some of her paperwork in order to sign the documents on her desk. So she says "Have you ever tried training yourself to use just the right hand?" He told me that he replied with kindness and said "No Ma'am, not once" He started to laugh and we both wondered why the stigma is still placed on the left handed person. All of the religious beliefs about them were blown out of the water years and years ago. Then we both remembered what happened when he was at the Church Pre-School when he was 4 years old. I had walked into the class and there was my lil boy trying to color with his left hand in his lap. When I asked what was up, he told me that the teacher told him to stop using his left hand because it was bad. I asked her to walk outside with me. You don't need to know what happened after we walked outside. Needless to say, she had her entire ass handed to her. From what I heard from the director the next day, the teacher had called in sick......lol. After that day, the lesson began about not letting others try to change how God or mother nature created him. Over the years a few other religious teachers tried to get him to stop using his left hand. Thank God he spoke up and told others that he was perfect the way he is.
