willow01's blog post - I took a little step back in time today!

When I was growing up I spent EVERY spare second I had at a Riding Stables not far from where I lived. Every weekend from 7:30am Saturday mornings(sometimes I would just go up on Friday nights too) right through to 9pm Sunday night when my mum would come and pick me up again and nearly every second of school holidays that is where I lived.

When I left school I went there and started working full time training to be an instructor but after a year or so I had to leave for my own personal reasons. I reckon that in the first 20 years of my life I probably spent 10 of them at home with my family and the other 10 I spent at HOME with my other family.

A few years later I got married, had kids...well you know the story and how it goes and time flew by. I still have dreams of being back there quite often and those are my favourite dreams to have, it really was a great life.

Well, today I took my daughter for her first riding lesson there (she has ridden before, just not there). I think I was more excited than she was because I had the I'M GOING HOME feeling. I have driven past the place quite often and have always looked and watched the changes being made and wondered which horses that I knew would still be there, knowing many of them were quite old when I was there.....I think that may be what put me off going before.

Anyway when we walked in we took a walk around first and even though everything was different and I only found one of my babies from before (my god she looks so old now!!) I spoke to the stable owner and her daughter and it felt really good!
My daughter has decided that she does want to go back so of course, I have to go back too.....YIPEEEEEEEE
