Wednesday, June 3, 2015, 9:17:05 PM- 26th or 27th run outdoors today
Not a warm day at all today. At noon I went out to run on the mountain of love, the big wooded park just outside the door of my shack. Dress warm. Last night down to maybe 4 C. My 21- year old cat insisted that I wait and share some catnip with him before going out. Whom I to say no thanks? I am just beginning to get back into uphill sprinting and plyometric explosive motions, like steep uphill bounding and stomping. Not a good idea to introduce ballistic motion too early. So far so good, knock on wood. Yesterday at the gym I finished my workout with some medicine ball movements. Lie on back with 25 lb. ball - roll up and throw vertical. Have not done these since the gym was closed for renovations. That was tough. I could really feel it today when I stopped in the run to get down in the grass to do pushups. 50-50-65. I have been up to 69 recently, but considering how big monday & yesterday were in gym, this is quite alright. These are the days I dream about all winter long. Get fresh oxygen right from the factory. Let's hear it for photosynthesis!

For the past two days I have just a slightly sore trout. There are always lots of cold & flu bugs going around at the street mission where I volunteer. I am not sick, but I feel like I have doing battle, just a bit. I debated with myself about running in the woods or not. Definitely not a warm day, and quite breezy. Anyway, I decided to try and just see how it felt. I brought along a piece of chinese dried licorice root. Perfect medicine for a sore trout. Dress up really warm. That was the 22nd run outdoors since the ice & snow disappeared. It takes a while to get into the shock of running and jumping on rocky, rough surfaces. Just beginning to readapt to uphill sprinting, scrambling, etc. Today I did lots of strides, crossovers, spinning and twirling like a goddamn fairy. I got down in the grass, or down in the dirt in the bush for three sets of pushups. 50-50-68 each set seperated by 10 minutes of running. The last set always goes to exhaustion. I found it too chilly to get down in the grass to do the abdominals. I was plenty sweaty after the run and did not want to get a chill. So came home and got down naked on a towel to do trunk flexion, torsion, etc. Windows are closed, doing naked stretches while gazing at all the lovely naked bums. Show the whole world your lovely naked bum!

Lordymama! I have been waiting for this day for a long time. First real run in the woods on Mt. Royal this year. I have been out to run on asphalt paths around Parc Jeanne-Mance maybe a dozen times, gradually increasing pace and total time. Then do naked pushups back at the shack. Today I ran continuously a bit more than 40 minutes total time. The back trails are a bit muddy, but what a big thrill. I stopped twice to get down in the grass to do 50 pushups - rest for 2-3 minutes then start running again. Got back home, stripped off sweaty running gear and surprised the hell outta myself by cranking out 59 in the exhaustion set. Was not expecting that. There is a strong symbiotic or mutual reinforcement effect when I incorporate pushups into hill running. Naked pushups back at the shack. Very grateful for good chi herbs all winter long from the new people in Chinatown. Hurray for good Ontario ginseng! Hurray for ling zhi mushroom. Dust & snow mould allergy symptoms are minimal this year. I am always afraid of going out too far in first runs of the season, getting all sweaty and then get a chilly wind walking back. All proportions today were exactly right. I feel good like I know I should.

I ran for the 7th time in the park with no ice underfoot today. After 90 minute walk on the mountain of love. I wore big rubber boots and played in the slush & mud. Playing in the mud is very therapeutic and transformative. Pick up a stick and redirect the flow of the stream of melt water. Then came home and changed into running gear and ran on the flat asphalt paths in the park for 20 minutes. Come back to the shack, strip off sweaty clothes and get down to do three sets of naked pushups 50-50-55. Then do 240 naked crunches, twists and reverse situps. Then do naked stretches. Ecstatic, tough workout.

Just before 2 pm I went out for the first run outside, in the park just to the south of my shack. Just across the street from the mountain of love. It was much icier than I had hoped, but I could not wait another day. I do not run outdoors in the wintertime, and the anticipation makes me crazy. First run of the year! Nice and slow and steady. Everything working how it supposed to do. Ice is still very dangerous, but I was cautious. 25 minutes. Come back to the shack, strip off sweaty wet running gear, get naked and bang out 64 continuous pushups and then beaucoups of crunches & twists. naked workout! Did stretches and play with aged cat. First run of the year.

I do not have glaucoma! Not at all. It is true that I have two eyeballs that have unusual shape at the back, but there is no sign of excessive pressure, and no malfunction of the optic nerves. My peripheral vision is excellent. I just now came back from Royal Victoria Hospital ophthalmology clinic. Ophthalmology. A very sexy nurse with fantastic cleavage sat in my lap and licked a little gold star with her pink tongue and stuck it on my forehead. She giggled and said now you free to go. I took my jumbo sunglasses along because I knew that the brilliant blast of sunshine on the pure snow would be painful after the drops to dilate my pupils. I don't have glaucoma!

Lordymama! What a good 2 hour long power walk on Mt. Royal, the huge sprawling wooded rockpile, right beside my shack. Everything makes sense, finds proportion and perspective when I walk or run on this magnificent, majestic piece of geography. I did not stop to rest anywhere. I had a drink of water from fountain at Maison Smith, but otherwise I was in constant motion for two hours. Lots of steep uphill challenges. For a little while I was off trail, walking around on densely packed deep snow. Silent, beautiful snowfall in the bush. And not severely cold, for a nice change. It feels like a very big privilege to be so intimate with this forest and rock. It has been a very hard, long, tough winter. Still at least three weeks to go before the spring thaw begins. Step by step. As soon as I got back to my shack I stripped off my sweaty clothes, got down on the floor naked, and banged out 65 continuous pushups, right to exhaustion. And then 250 crunches, twists & reverse sit-ups. Thanks to the ling zhi mushroom for the stability of my heart & circulation. The other day at pharmacy my blood pressure was 118/74. Hurray for the ling zhi mushroom! Winter is long. Stay tough!

The fucked up psycho princess began playing loud bass maybe eight or ten minutes ago. Hostile, angry, deranged little fuckup of a human being. I need a good sleep tonight. We are going to have 100-115 people for food bank tomorrow. At this time of the month we always have big demand. I need to be well-rested and ready. He is definitely not using his expensive soundproof studio. Fuck off, little man.

The fucked up psycho princess continues to play loud and superloud bass. Hostile invasion of our acoustic space. He is definitely not using his expensive soundproof recording studio. He did warn us that it would be war if we phoned the police. Pathetic little shit so alone, so lost, useless, needy and desperate for attention.
