Wednesday, August 4, 2010, 8:48:56 AM- I think it is illuminating
The work I do - if you can call it that - is to watch ppl working near power lines. Kids - toddlers and pre schoolers - just love to watch the cranes. They will watch for ages as the lift is chained and then lifted into position and then repeated. The thing is it is the same with old men. They too will stop and watch the crane working. My guess is that we never grow up and it is only when we get old that we can stop and take the time to admit it.

Friday, July 30, 2010, 1:44:52 PM- I need extra money
My income is inconsistant and so I really need to find a way to make some extra so that in the lean times I can get by a bit better. As many will know - I love my Australian Rules Football. Often there are games that are a lay down messaire so to speak. I have some money invested but interest rates are not all that high and you get taxed and it takes all year. But there has to be a better way. This week there are quite a few games that are very easy to pick the winner. If you only win 15c in the $ it is still so much better than the bank and think of it......I could make quite a bit if I roll it into a few games. What a great idea except that I don't know how to put on a bet and am a bit scared of losing. So Fri night an easy game to pick the outcome.............only problem is the fave got beaten and so........... Just as well I don't know how to place a footy bet hey? Saved by my ignorance...........however there are other games on this week that really are easy...lol Nah - I am too scared

Tuesday, July 27, 2010, 7:39:24 AM- Time for the old age home??
During a visit to my doctor, I asked him, "How do you determine whether or not an older person should be put in an old age home?" "Well," he said, "we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the person to empty the bathtub." "Oh, I understand," I said. "A normal person would use the bucket because it is bigger than the spoon or the teacup." "No" he said. "A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?"

Thursday, July 22, 2010, 6:39:03 AM- La Tour
I have been watching La Tour de France. I enjoy it but think they must be mad. I like seeing the countryside and the towns they go through. Also they have a short cooking show before the coverage starts showing the specialty of the region they are riding in. Only prob is the time diff means coverage starts around 10ph and goes through untill 2am. I get up at 5.45 am when I work - and I have had a bit of work recently. Thankfully yesterday/last night was a rest day. I needed it.

Tuesday, June 22, 2010, 8:30:33 AM- When my kids were young
I used to read them AA Milne poetry. He wrote about Christopher Robin and Phoo Bear. Now I have grand children I wanted to get the poetry for my daughter to read to her kids. Unfortunately it has not been all that easy to find but perserverance has paid off. I didn't find the hard cover with colour pics but I did find a soft cover with b&w illistrations. It has "Changing the Guard at Buckingham Palace" though to "Vespers". I hope they like it as much as my kids did and that my daughter enjoys reading it to them. I am quite chuffed.

Thursday, June 17, 2010, 11:49:10 AM- Sex in the dark
There was this couple that had been married for 20 years. Every time they made love, the husband always insisted on turning off the light. Well, after 20 years the wife felt this was ridiculous. She figures she would break him of this crazy habit. So one night, while they were in the middle of a wild, screaming, romantic session, she turned on the lights. She looked down and saw her husband was holding a battery-operated leisure device... A vibrator! Soft, wonderful and larger than a real one. She went completely ballistic. 'You impotent bastard,' She screamed at him, 'How could you be lying to me all of these years? You better explain yourself!' The husband looks her straight in the eyes and says calmly: 'I'll explain the toy. . You explain the kids.'

This is very funny cause it is so true. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvUIbqKyppY But I think Australian Rules Football is the best - but I may be biased.
