Worked on my scroll saw this weekend. Started out with some simple 1/4" thick boards. Taped several together after being sized. Drew the pattern on the top one and started to cut.


After being cut and sanded it was time to stain them.

Then put some finish on them. These say NOEL and will be affixed to a card...will show that later.

This is another one I made. This is mahogany.

So I made a comment on someones pic because as a life time member here I am proud of this site and don't want to see it go down the tubes. So I called them out on an obvious stupid reason to make a new profile and for pics that can be found elsewhere.You got to love their numerous excuses that they give!!
So this is what I get back!!! LOL makes me laugh and giggle snort LOL. True immaturity and a moron of the highest degree...gotta LOVE it.
Numerous people have called this "so called" couple out but TWL and I both were the only ones who got hate email from them.
Oh And I will explain what walking with the big dogs means to this person...Learning to grow up and talk like an adult with adults. Ohhmegeeerrrrrrrd LOl

This is a wood burning I did today...just something different to do.

From the Goliad Mission.
This picture is from one of the back corner turrets. Looking into the courtyard with the church off in the distance.

And this one is from inside the yard a little closer than the last pic.

When Col. Fannin left the presidio it was common practice to disable the cannon that could not be taken with them. This one was plugged and then fired. Found amoung the rubble many years later.

Towards the end, the panic and desperation must have been intense. This is one of the bells , broken while sounding the alarm.

I spent the afternoon today in one of Texas' most revered sites in Goliad. During the Texas revolution in 1836 everyone has heard of the Alamo. This is the site of the battle of Goliad. Otherwise known as the Goliad massacre. 3 weeks after the Alamo ,Santa Ana had sent his army all over to find Gen. Sam Houston ,but some of his army had been sent to Goliad to take care of a large number of men there led by Col. James Fannin. Initially understanding the magnatude of the forces coming down on him Fannin fled Goliad to go join up with Gen. Sam Houston. However , they were intercepted near the Coleto River by Gen. Urrea.
I will let the battle and subsequent events unfold over a few blogs. I took A LOT of pictures.
First is the Texas flag and the "Bloddy Arm" Flag. The bloody arm flag shows a severed red arm holding a sword . Symbolizing that Texans would rather cut off their own arms than serve under Mexico. The flag was flown at the Goliad Declaration of Independence signing in 1835.

Next is a view of the Presidio La Bahia. What you see is the main fortifications and the church building directly behind the main gates.

Jump ahead a bit and this is a cannon used by Col. Fannin. It is once again pointing out from in front of the Presidio. Holding its ground once again.

Now,turn around and directly behind that cannon is the church of La Bahia. More on this building in the next blog. It has quite a history.


Today was so beautiful and I had a nice meditative time.

Going to go a ways back to a past life when I was Capt. Red Pubes aboard the Pirate ship NNawty NNautical .... Ye scurvy Dogs,shiver me Timbers and pucker me Anus!

We be a hearty bunch of NNawty pirates! We always got invited back for another and pillage!!!!

Fly far into the future when I was stationed aboard the Titanic. I was in steerage....half nekkid(of course) when the damn thing sprung a leak!!!! All I could do to keep it from getting into my eyes!


But alas the frigid North Atlantic got the better of me...and the icy waters swallowed me whole. As I lay cold in the waters with remnants of iceberg all around.
