I saw the doc today for my second post-op check and got the all clear. He said I now have (his exact words) "the vagina of a 25 year old." *gigglesnort* I told him I'd be sure to use that as my facebook status. heeheeheeheehee

Work was GREAT today! All the tension in the office has drained away. I was totally swamped with work this morning, kinda panicked then realized I didn't have anything to do by 12:30. LMAO The senior partner had commented yesterday that he was pleased he never had seen me playing Solitaire when I had work to do (an ongoing problem with the secretary who is now gone). So... being the ornery cuss I am, I brought up solitaire, played for about a minute just to get a nice spread of the cards, took a screen shot and made it my screen saver. I couldn't resist. Wish you coulda seen the look on his face when he realized I really wasn't goofing off. It was pretty classic.

Wowser! What a day! And by that, I mean what a GOOD day! My son's girlfriend got the job she hoped for as an EMT - thanks in part to the EMTs being here last week because of Mom. Silver lining, right? They finally let go the other secretary at work. The writing has been on the wall for months now. It's just been a question of when. I was informed we're expanding and adding two more attorneys and another paralegal. I'll be juggling all nine attorneys; ten when our new associate gets sworn in as a member of the bar. Woohoo. S'ok. It'll be rough, but it's do-able. They want to hire another secretary, but with everyone playing musical offices and work stations, they aren't sure where they'd put her so that is temporarily on hold. I also got an 11% raise. Hot damn - I'll take it! Yeah. A very good day.

Oy vey! We filled up the better part of a 10 yard dumpster with dirt and rock. The Dingo was a blast to operate. Insert appropriate sound effects here Pooh threw away a perfectly good white girl and I got a lil burnt We still more to do, but very little and not today.

Yesterday was like totally awesome! On my way to work I stopped by the rental place and paid for the Dingo w/bucket (that's how they have it listed). I was utterly giddy! Naturally my kid made the comment: "Dingos stole my baby!" Work went well - busy but not stressful. Got home, got dinner going, went out to play with the new weedwacker (there's lots of catch up to do along the backyard fenceline). When I called everyone to dinner, Mom wasn't responding. I figured she was asleep, but as I approached I realized she was almost xxxxxxxxxxx. I tried to give her some juice, but she was too out of it to swallow, so I called 911. Her blood sugar had dived to 29. Eek! She was also acting differently than usual with a insulin reaction and I was worried about a possible stroke. The EMTs showed up in record time, were fantastic, and got her back to normal quickly. While the EMTs were here, I asked how one goes about getting hired by their company. My son's girlfriend has certifications but no experience. Turns out they are hiring NOW and application cutoff is today. Talk about timing! So she's gonna zip over there and fingers crossed she gets a job with them. While all that was going on, neighbors stopped by to see if we were okay. I got to talk to Pete's owner and gave him the contact info to straighten things out. I should know today what's going on with that. So... even a bad thing turned out okay with two good things as bonuses. I give the day a 9.8 out of 10.

Well HOT DAMN! We sold the riding lawnmower and are using those funds to rent a skidloader next weekend and Pooh's gonna show me how to drive it. WOOOOOHOOOOO! I cannot wait! I am maintaining a smidgen of common sense, however. He's gonna move the dirt by the house foundation cuz knocking down the house would probably be a bad thing (or so he says). I think he just wants to have a turn playing in the dirt. =/

Poohbare and I went shopping at the "toy store" today. We looked at a variety of colors, shapes, and sizes. We were also checking out different power sources - wow such variety! We finally settled on one which takes several attachments (sold separately of course). WOOOBABY! I cannot wait to get busy with it in a few hours - hopefully before dinner cuz I suspect I'll be working up quite an appetite. Oh sheesh - I forgot for a minute there that I'm talking to a buncha pervs. Get your collective minds out of the gutter, people! We bought Troy-Bilt 2-cycle weed trimmer. ))) *drool*

I think I've mentioned the neighbor's dog, Pete, previously. He's either a Rott or Akita/pit mix, super mean looking, and over 100 pounds of pure muscle. He's also one of the sweetest/smartest dogs I've ever met. We simply adore him. Apparently J (the elderly owner) let Pete out in the yard last week and didn't know his adult son M had left the gate open. Pete went on walkabout. M and I were talking over the fence yesterday and I'd asked if they'd looked for Pete. They had not. Money is tight and they didn't know how they'd pay the fees even if they found him. I asked if WE found him and paid the fees if he wanted the dog back. He does. So.... we traipsed off to the Humane Society yesterday not really expecting to find him. Pooh and I are realistic enough to know the odds were against us. My daughter came along as she's heartbroken "her dog" is missing. The fates must have been smiling on us. There was Peteyboy happy to see us. They let us take him to an outside area for awhile. My kid promptly plopped down on the ground and Pete was all over her acting like a pup. She had foamy slobber from the cheeks down to her shoulders and was completely coated in dog hair; happy tears rolling down her face. We need to talk to the animal control officer tomorrow, then I'll follow up with M. Fingers crossed Pete will be home before the week ends. )))
