some of the kitchen inmates were talking about food, what else? I happened to mention peameal bacon. NO ONE knew what I was talking about, so I googled it and learned that peameal bacon is a uniquely Canadian thing. Americans have Canadian bacon which doesn't exist in Canada, We call it ham, there is also regular bacon but then there is peameal bacon, which is neither like ham nor bacon.
Peameal bacon actually is a much milder flavour than either ham or bacon and comes in either slices or "roasts" You can cook it in a variety of ways and use it in many different ways.
This is how I used it for dinner tonight.



It was yummy! And if you can fight my kids off there maybe some left overs.

I finally tackled the last of the mess in the garage and got the car pushed in. That was something I really wanted to get done before the snow starts, it will make shovelling so much easier. And I now have a parking spot for visitors
My son has been complaining about a loose tooth. He hasn't really been eating because it was bugging him so much. He asked me to brush his teeth and "be really careful on this side" I was really careful on the bottom teeth on that side then started brushing really good on the top. I assumed the loose tooth was on the bottom and brushed the sucker right out of his mouth! At least he doesn't have to worry about that anymore!!
Happy that her list of things that have to be done has dwindled dramatically,

I have always been very open with my kids right from the beginning. No question was too silly, taboo, out there. And in return they have always come to me with any questions they have had, whether it be mundane or profound.
I have never hidden "sex" whether it was reproduction or my distaste of discrimination based on colour, orientation, and all points in between.
I remember it being a big deal to my toddlers to say "I am a girl like mommy" or "I am a boy like daddy"

Yep "IT" is puberty. And "IT" is far wiser than I ever hoped to be.

I got the kitchen put back together this afternoon, which of course meant doing some rearranging (you know what I mean ladies) well the rearranging carried over to the living and dining room too, which of course means you have to clean along the way.
I have moved my office (lol the computer and the table it sits on) so I am now facing the window rather than having it to my right. Hopefully this will eliminate all the glare I was getting from the sun each afternoon now that it is so low in the sky.
I now have one pantry type cupboard left over and its stuffed full of the crap that I didn't know what else to do with. It is just sitting in the hallway at the top of the stairs, but it is going to have to wait til tomorrow to tackle. I am just too damn tired and the kids will be home soon.

Today I decided to tackle stripping the kitchen floor, What a pain in the ass. I got the majority of it done, then I needed to start moving furniture outta there. Saved that task untill after dinner. I now have a table, a computer, a microwave and a pantry in the livingroom, dining room, and hallway. The kitchen actually looks really big empty, but I can't say the same for the rest of the main floor. Tomorrow morning as soon as kids leave I will finish stripping and start waxing. With any luck at all I will be done by the time the kids get home from school (Damn drying times). But its gonna look really good!!
Anyone wanna come over and slide around in their socks before I put everything back in there?
