today would hurry up and be over already. I have prepped as much as I can for dinner tomorrow, the house is clean, and the kids are driving me insane they are so excited. I just want to do the Santa thing and head to bed. I am really looking forward to it too.

everyone gets too busy with travelling, parties etc. I would like to wish you all Very Happy Holidays!
Wrapping is about half finished the rest will get done tomorrow morning while the kids are still at school. Shopping SHOULD be done but each time I go to the damn grocery store I come home having forgotten one more thing. You would think the holiday lasted a month rather than just 2 days the way I am preparing.
I also want to say thank you to a few very wonderful ppl, some day I will be able to return the favour by passing it along.

A few weeks ago we got 2 baby male gerbils. I know they are both male the store we got them from ONLY sells males you have to travel quite a distance to get females, they do not want ppl breeding them.
They were happy together for ummm about a week, although they had distictly different personalities. Roll, (their names are Rock and Roll) would fire all the bedding out of the shelter and Rock would haul it all back in. Roll started picking on Rock so much I finally had to seperate them. Right from the start I was thinking of Rock as female and Roll as male even though I KNOW they are both males.
This really makes me wonder how deeply our perceptions of male and female are ingrained. Those that know me, know that I do not make assupmtions on this site, so this thought process really has me intrigued.

with the sound of music! yep that classic came on tv at 7pm tonight. The kids and I settled in for a movie night. Good ol fashioned family fun right? All was well till about 8:30 when my son realized he was missing COPS off he went to his bedroom to catch that. 8:45 daughter asks "can I use the computer?" so now I am watching alone. 9pm son comes back down COPS is over but he isn't feeling well. 9:20pm son proceeds to throw up all over the livingroom floor. Movie? what movie?
I just tossed daughter off the computer and she has gone out to play with a friend she was so busy on MSN with.
She has 6 mins left, then it will be 11pm and I will haul her ass in the house.

and found a faintly ridiculous arguement about whether or not there are cliques on NN. Of course there are, to deny it would be totally unrealistic. However, cliques are not always bad things, everyone wants a place to belong and I have found the NN cliques to be for the most part positive things. They are a place where many have made friends with people they otherwise would never have had the chance to meet. They can also on good days be a place where new people are welcomed and embraced and made to feel like they have always belonged. On bad days watch out! They can and do viciously attack.
There are several very distinct areas on NN where these cliques can be seen by all. The forum and chat are by far the most obvious. Neither is better or worse than the other just different.
What struck me the most about this arguement was that one was saying all were welcome, while that IS true, you do need balls to just jump in and join the fun. However there are many people who aren't so confident, outgoing or just plain loud like some of us, myself included. They are the ones that feel like the outsiders. To deny them their feelings is just plain ignorant. They are the ones we may never meet, and that would be our loss.
Sometimes it pays to sit back and listen rather than shout to be heard above the pack. I have met many wonderful people by doing just that.
