again today the temp has been below 0f, I just came back in after waiting for the bus and its warmed up to -4f or -20c. Nostril freezing weather. Over the next 24 hrs the temp is going to rise to about -3c and bring us some snow!!! Maybe my son will stop bitching because he will have something to play in this weekend. There is a reason I like snow so much, it keeps the kids busy during the long winter months

There is a bike path behind me that gets really pretty just a few minutes into the walk. I have taken many, many pics as I have walked along there. One spot in particular I really love and have taken pics of it during 3 of the 4 seasons, I only need spring to complete the year. I had as you know been hoping for more snow but not knowing if I will be getting it this year this pic will do for now.

some of you love it, some of you hate it, some of you have never actually seen it. This weird winter we are having is leaving some begging for snow and others wishing it would just finally go away.
Talking to a friend tonight we were talking about the different kinds of snow. Some of you will wonder HOW can snow be different?
Believe me it can be.
At the warmer end of the snow scale is packing snow. This is probably the most fun snow. Packing snow is what snowmen, snowballs and snow forts are made of. It has to be relativly warm for snow to be packing snow. It really is a one day phenomenom, once the snow has heated/cooled it will never have the same properties as it did when it fell. This is something that is to be taken advantage of.
On the colder end of the scale, it can actually become too cold to snow. Those are the deceptively brilliant sunny days mid winter that will freeze your nostrils just breathing. Snow takes on a whole new characteristic on days like these. It is frozen solid, you can walk on the surface barely making foot prints and it has a really cool sound that I can only describe as sounding like walking on styrofoam.

We ended up with more ice than snow. The busses were cancelled yesterday, the kids could have walked but it was pretty brutal out when they would have had to leave so I just kept them home. It's snowing!!!! The ground is white, and its still snowing!! It is finally snowing!!!!! It isnt going to stop untill sometime tomorrow!! I have snow!!!!
