Most of the time they are trite lil sayings that annoy me to no end.
Today, in an email from a friend, was one I really do like.

"Great minds talk about ideas, average minds about events, and small minds about people."

Thinking I have a great, average, small mind and hoping to change that,

I really am the same online and off but when a real life friend meets the "cyber" friends and they click (not clique) it really is a leap. So many people just don't understand chatting.
I don't feel validated or justified I have never felt the need to prove anything to anyone. What I am feeling is happiness. Happy for open minds and willingness to stretch just a bit further than previously thought possible.

In this part of the world it has been cooler than normal. I know it will warm up again even without the weather forcasters. What would the first day of school be like if all the kids didn't head off all proud of their new school clothes only to return at the end of the day with beet red faces and sweating like mad? It is tradition. The following day they will huddle off freezing first thing in the morning with their cutoffs and popsicle stained tshirts for a few more weeks.
It came up in chat, I am not the only one that loves fall.
I was talking about my fave sweater that I was looking foward to wearing again. A friend of mine, you may know her as Shewolf~ made this for me several years ago.
It is hard to describe so I took a pic.



I just love hauling that thing out again and snuggling in.

Rodin and I went in the way back machine and were talking about washroom graffitti.
Remember the wisdom and the laughs you got from reading the washroom walls? Sometimes staying longer than needed just to finish reading?
When did that fine art actually die out? Most walls I see today are totally pristine.
I don't remember the transformation but we did have some good laughs over our past faves!

It all started back at the beginning of the summer. Whenever I walked for a bit my left knee would really start to ache and it would take days for it to stop no matter what I was doing.
More recently it has been my hips. Really sore and achy almost like the last few weeks of pregnancy. Nothing I did would help. I was even waking up achy. The ache then moved down my legs, I just couldn't figure it out. Painkillers weren't helping. I was starting to think I needed to get my sorry ass into the Dr's.
I decided to do the google thing and low and behold came across a few sites that suggested this could be a potassium deficiency. Well considering my blood pressure meds are a diuretic and all the sweating I have been doing and my recently horrible diet I decided to give it a shot.
so yesterday I ate acouple of bananas, several glasses of orange juice and some tomatos I went to bed early totally miserable with the aches. Low and behold I got up this morning totally pain free. FFS something so simple but it goes to show how important a good diet really is.
I am promising myself to eat better from now on.

Today when I went grocery shopping chocolate milk was on sale only $3 for 4 litres when white milk is $4. Wanting to give my kids a treat I bought 3 bags (12 litres) of the stuff.
It wasn't untill I got home that I remembered I take milk in my coffee
I still have about a little bit of white milk left but I guess in a few days I will find out if I like cafe au chocolate!

I have been kind of down for a few weeks, I guess. The recent weather trapping me indoors in the A/C def hasn't helped. I haven't been eating properly which hasn't been helping and my body is definitely letting me know.
However in the last few days a few things have happened to make a dent in my mood. The beautiful drawing rodin09 did arrived at my door. It looks sooooo fab! I really do feel honoured to have been his subject.
Today a package arrived from NZ. How on earth could you possibly be down with tim tams? It was actually quite funny opening that package (many thanks to jay!!) I pulled out a pair of socks and said "Oh kiwis!!" Now in order for this to be funny you would have to remember my daughters near death experience related to kiwi fruit (in my blog about 2 years ago, good luck finding it.) She jumped back in horror!! I wasn't thinking. I was commenting on the kiwi birds, which she hadn't heard of, not kiwi the fruit that can kill her. The look on her face was priceless!
To top it all off I recieved a cheque I normally get at the beginning of the month and had forgotten all about. It was just the right amount to tide us over with a few essentials until payday Thursday. It really is amazing how having to use handsoap because you have run out of bars and other small things like that can accumulate to bring you down.
All I need now is for the humidity to bog off so I can open the windows and go outside without feeling like I am underwater to feel back to normal.
