Monday, September 8, 2008, 10:58:41 PM- School again
I went down to the school today to withdraw and in doing so had to speak to a guidance councellor. She had already heard about me and asked me if I was the one, my reputation preceedes me. I said yes and she offered me the co-op placememnt without completing the course. I am a super happy camper because that means I will have some recent experience and a recent reference ))) I will be calling her in Oct, right after our Thanksgiving and will get to work on that. In the mean time there are a few one day courses I want to take. All is not lost and I will be keeping busy. Optimistic again, ju

Friday, September 5, 2008, 7:19:47 PM- was it only 2 days???
I had my first 2 days of school and it felt more like 8 years. My brain is numb and I am exhausted from trying not to fall asleep. This course defininely is NOT for me. It is far too basic. Today I contacted the advisor and told her that I didn't want to take it and was hoping that it is early enough that they can get someone else in. It is. She wants me to think about it for the weekend but I already know. I will go in Monday and withdraw. Then I will start searching for something more appropriate to my skill set. Learning how to clean a mouse ball really isn't what I call "upgrading" I will look for something more appropriate and start the job search in earnest. yawning, ju

I can become very aggresive. I watched the news tonight and a McCain supporter reasured us lumber jacks that Canadians will like his running mate because of her connection to Hockey. I was reassured over and over in chat by AMERICANS that it wasn't meant to be taken "that" way. I have NO political affiliations with the US whatsoever!! I do however have to express my dissapointment in your country for allowing and even making excuses for such idiotic comments. This dumb canuck is heading to her igloo for a good nights sleep, ju

Tele survived M2M will be heading back in the morning, 2 kids in a hotel room, in not such a great area is taking its toll. I will let her fill you in but they kept getting lost and one of the directions was to "turn right at the hobo". Her county isn't out of danger yet but they want to be home to deal with it rather than stuck in some hotel and not able to get back in case of flooding. It is not over, the texans, including M2M will be dealing with it next. I am so glad Gustav wasn't what they had feared, and hope this doesn't make people complacent next time. Feeling like a mother hen but happy her chicks are safe, ju

Manic and M2M have evacuated. M2M will be calling me to let me know how they fared. Tele and cajun will be riding it out Angel will keep me up to date on tele. Guitartxn is also in the path and will call me to let me know how he makes out. Sandy hasn't checked in with me today but I will track him down. Dunno what MikeyinLA is doing. If I had the ability and they would all listen I would have them all hearded up here to keep them safe. Very anxious!! *edit* I have heard from cajun and sandy they will both also keep us posted. ju

Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 2:10:38 AM- Autumn
I dont care if it is still the end of August autumn is approaching. It was hotter than hell on Saturday but I HAD to cook a turkey. Today I made the soup from the carcas. No sooner is the soup in the freezer, I have to make spaghetti sauce from the fresh veggies that are still available to me. As soon as I get that in the freezer I will be making vegetable soup from the last of the summers bounty. I have several ideas for quiche to preserve the last of the fresh veggies. The calendar doesn't tell me when autumn is, instinct does. Yes the days have gotten shorter, the air is cooler and cleaner. The summers bounty is plentiful but there is something in me that says now is the time to prepare. I do not see Jan 1 as the new year, nor do I see spring as a new beginning. I revel in fall, the fresh air, the abundance of fruits and vegetables, the start of the school year. I wait with just as much anticipation for the first snow flake to bring joy to the beginning of the long dark winter ahead. I look forward to spring with the longer days and the promise of sun once again. I anticipate the heat of the summer but am forever in thrall of autumn, a season to some that is a time of death, hibernation, endings. To me it is a season of new beginnings, renewed energy, hope and challenge. Saturday, August 23, 2008, 5:51:36 AM- Oh boo hoo
poor you!! NN isnt the same as it was when you arrived. Thank god! I miss the "good ol days" We will always remeber what we first encountered with fondness. Realistically would you want it to stay the same? I think that would be pretty damn boring. NN like any and everything else in your life is what you chose to make it. It has changed and will continue to grow and change, the question is are you up for the challenge? If you cannot say yes then I bid you adieu. It was nice knowing you but I too get sick of the same conversation each time we have a beer together. I prefer stimulus. There is something to be said for comfort and there is even more to be said for going outside the comfort zone. Sick and tired of all the whining, ju
