Gift PremiumOdd yet delightfully intriguing. Morbid yet very very sweet. Sarcasm is part of who I am.....deal with it.

Thursday, February 13, 2014, 5:22:12 AM- Things that make me giggle.
**While shopping, why do some people wait until after the clerk has totaled their bill, then and only then did they start looking for a credit card or getting out a check book? Is it a shock to them that they have to pay? **Why do some people, when they get a group text, hit 'reply all'? {why do I need to receive 14 more texts from people -NOT on my phone list- with the response "awwee so cute"} **While in the grocery store, why do some people feel the need to take up an entire aisle and catch up with family or friends? It isn't the Zombie Apocalypse and they are not the only ones in the store. **In a large group, why does one person just STOP in their tracks and make the others behind them bump into one another? It's not like everyone around them has suddenly disappeared. **When standing in line (no matter which line) why do total strangers feel the need to ride your ass and not give you any room to breathe? Have they not heard of personal space? do they have separation issues? **At a stop sign, you wave someone through and you keep waving them through, yet they sit there and look at you as if you are going to ram them as soon as they get into the intersection? **A person walking their dog is coming towards you. Why do they let the dogs cross over and extend the leash in front of you and blocks you from walking? Am I expected to get off the sidewalk for a dog? **Why do women with (obviously) filthy hair try on hats at the department store? **Why do men scratch their balls in public? (tee hee) I took the day off for a docs appointment and this is what I observed all day long. I am home safe and sound. There aren't anymore questions to ask. Carry on!

Wednesday, February 12, 2014, 3:30:14 AM- I'm not perfect and don't expect perfection.....
But when it comes to art......well.......that is where I am a bit hard on myself. Many years ago, when my oldest son was 8 years old, he was painting an ocean scene for an art contest. Well, to make a long story short, he had just about finished the painting and then made a mistake. He started stomping his feet, threw his brushes across the room and broke the canvas. Okay, let's call it what it was...a tantrum...lol I told him that the painting was beautiful and then consoled his lil heart. Both of my sons are hard on their talents when it comes to what they create. The slightest mistake (that no one else would see) or even just the thought that an artist cannot display properly what they envision, will irritate the hell out of them. I am not innocent in this. My disappointment runs deep when I make a mistake. Even if it's a small movement that I cannot complete with my brush, a pen or pencil, it will put me one hell of a mood. I can turn into a temperamental little kid and will break my canvas in two or rip up the paper. That temperamental attitude happened earlier. I made one mistake on the painting I began (see the start of that painting below) then tossed a wee bit of a fit and now it is bent and in the trash downstairs. lol.....*giggling* and thinking of my sons right now. No, I didn't throw myself on the floor kicking my feet. But I did flip it the bird before I said goodbye to it...lol

Tuesday, February 11, 2014, 7:00:26 PM- Jelly Belly flavor.
Beer!! Yes, you read that right. The Jelly Belly makers have announced the creation of the 'Draft, Beer Flavor Jelly Bean' If you ask me, they should have just named it Beer Belly...lol I am not going to try it because I have never liked the taste of beer. I do not doubt that it will taste like beer because the Jelly Belly makers are amazing at duplicating the taste of anything. Anyone who has eaten the jelly beans know this to be true. When I read the article, I didn't wonder about the taste or how cool the thought was. What did cross my mind was how is this going to fly with parents and when can we expect the protests from the groups who fight to keep minors away from any alcohol related items? Question: How is this candy any different from the candy cigarettes some states have banned because the law makers say it teaches kids that smoking is okay? Can we not argue that beer flavoured jelly beans send the same message about drinking alcohol? And tell me this, If you eat the Jelly Beer Belly Beans, does this mean you have to have pretzels with them?

Tuesday, February 11, 2014, 7:40:08 AM- What a long day..........*sigh*
Once I walked through the door and into my quiet apartment, it was time to relax. I gathered my thoughts, took a deep breath and began to forget about the numerous phone calls at work about sadness. "Take 20 minutes to vent about your day and then leave it behind you" That is what my Dad always told me. So I did and then I was comfortable. The trials and tribulations of our everyday lives, be they at work or in our personal lives, test us. When I get a bad grade on a test, I do my homework so I can pass the next test. As we age, we think that school is over, but it isn't. For now, school is out and I am ready for bed. What will I learn tomorrow? Hell if I know, but I am ready. Come on life...give it your best shot! I don't normally do this, but I have decided to share the beginning of my next art project. I usually show the aftermath of my creations but decided to share this time. I relaxed by starting an acrylic painting. Once I had the paintbrush in my hand....the numerous sad phone calls were just a memory. If you look to the left, you can see a straight line. That is where I left off. I wonder what it could be?

Sunday, February 9, 2014, 4:05:37 AM- Take a walk with me in the rain.
Rain or not, a walk is always worthwhile around here. Today I discovered a gem! It all started with a bird. I saw a baby pelican and wanted a pic. But as I got closer to it, it flew away. Then, off to the left I see some flowers on the side of a cliff and then down from that cliff...a cove. A couple hundred feet down was a cave that intrigued me. And yes, you guessed it, I had to find a way down...tee hee. I did find a thin muddy trail and headed on down...well should I say slipping and sliding my way on down. It was foggy and rainy at the top of the cliff. This the view before I decided to have some fun. So I stuffed my camera into my bra and off I went! This is the view back up to the top. That is where I came from. Whew! The slate rock cliffs were gorgeous! They looked like towering Lego Mountains..lol The fog wasn't down in the cove, but you can see it at the top of the cliff. When I reached the cove there was more than one cave. I did try to enter this cave, but there was sea water gushing out of it. This means that it must have been over a couple hundred yards long. Man was I tempted! I did go into the cave that caught my eye when I was looking down into the ocean. I can only imagine that this area is completely under water when the tide rolls in. There were dead jellyfish and Octopus pieces everywhere. Probably from the crashing of the waves onto the slate rock boulders. And as I walked out of the cave, this is the stunning beach that was before me. I would love to come here during the summer and go skinny dipping. Please ignore the rain drops on the lens. It was raining the entire time I was down there. I had a great time down there. The back of my jeans were caked with mud from sliding down the cliffs. My pants got muddy and wet almost the the knees and even though I was wearing a ball cap, my hair was soaked. The shoes that I swore were going to be tossed, were covered in sand and red mud. They took me on another adventure. I do beat them to death at each turn, but they come back fighting...lol Thank you for coming along. My time in the rain is more glorious to me than on a bright sunny day. The fog joining the rain was a plus! I like how one curious moment can take me off in another direction. Kind of like a shiny penny...hahahaha...

Saturday, February 8, 2014, 5:45:41 PM- It's Lego Saturday!
A few weeks ago a 7 year old girl wrote the Lego Corporation and asked them to make more Lego Kits that had adventures for little girls. To her there were too many boy Lego Sets. She did get a great deal of support and most thought her letter was cute. Then there were Lego Enthusiasts who thought that she should be shown the original Lego Sets. For years the fans of the all mighty Lego Sets had to create things from their own imagination and not from the specialized pieces that they make now. I wonder what she would think of the original sets? This is a castle made from the original Lego Sets. This was considered talent and would probably take hours to build. And now they have complete sets with key pieces. It is kind of like paint by numbers. Look at the box and find the piece. Sometimes, now and then, I wonder if Lego took the imagination out of building and creating.
