I've had a life changing idea and I think I am going to go ahead. I'm not gonna jump right in but take a bit of time thinking it through....not gonna say much more than that right now...

Got my thinking head on again at last.....

Was supposed to be the nicest day of the week, with forecasts of sunshine with showers; so we bit the bullet and headed off for the day to South Lakes Wild Animal Park and were planning to go to Conniston afterwards to head up a hill.

As it turned out the rain never stopped all day and we got totally soaked to the skin, but the animal park was totally worth the soaking. I was amazed, and the kids actually managed the whole outing without moaning or falling out once!! If you are ever anywhere near it I would highly recommend it for a day out. The li'l baby rhino was the star of the day, he had us all in stitches practising his charging backwards and forwards but not wanting to go to far from his mummy so his braking was really funny to watch.

Then watching the tigers climbing 20 feet to "catch" their dinner was really impressive and I got some really good pics of them too, but I used my daughters camera to take them and she can't find her USB lead for it so I can't even get them onto my comp yet....

So, by the time we left there we had walked around so much and all had squelchy feet and I hadn't been wearing great shoes for walking around all day so my feet were throbbing and squelchy. We decided against going up any hills, besides all we would have seen was cloud anyway which made it pretty pointless. Instead we found an old fashioned sweet shop and spent an absolute fortune on lots of little treasures

I'm not sure what to do tonight, I have to go back to work on Monday so I won't be able to go out tomorrow night and I have been invited out tonight......but I am so tired and really can't be bothered. Hmmmmmm, I dunno - if I go out for a wee while I will end up staying out then I will regret it tomorrow. I think I will just toss a coin and see what happens.

There is no place like home, and after the wettest week I think I have ever witnessed - home is even better, especially with the sun-shining and NO RAIN.....

We were about 5 minutes into our journey home, on a bendy country road when a couple of horses and riders were coming towards us. I slowed down as I always do when passing horses (after having ridden horses on roads, I used to curse people that didn't slow down and pass carefully) but unfortunately the car coming the other way didn't share my consideration of others on the road and tried to pass way too close and way too fast. The horse spooked and landed on top of his rider, who landed on top of the car before the 2 of them got bounced over the road.

It was one of the worst things I have ever witnessed. Another driver got out and was seeing to the rider, and I jumped out and had to run up the road to catch the horse. He had got himself clear and ran a bit up the road, towards a lot of traffic. I managed to catch him and calm him down a bit and give him a quick check over. Luckily he only had a couple of cuts, one of them quite deep which will need stitches probably but I had a bandage in my car so i strapped his leg for her to try to stop the bleeding till he got back to his stable....but overall he was okay and only a little spooked still.

Anyway when I got him back to his rider, she was not as badly hurt as she could have been, so they were both very luckily I suppose. It just annoys the hell out of me when drivers do things like that because they are not the ones who end up getting hurt. I didn't look at his car but I hope it is seriously damaged and costs a fortune to fix, maybe next time he will slow down!!!!!

Right rant over and I'm not that long home so I'm gonna pour myself a large, cool drink and go and sit outside for a while so I don't have to go back to work looking like a milk bottle as usual.

Haaahaaaaa, I thought I was nearly ready...who the hell was I trying to kid? Even when I am organized I am still the most unorganized person I know of.

We took the dog through to my ex's, the kid's dad kinda ex......He volunteered to watch him after my so called mate let me down in more ways than one. Anyway I had to take the dog to his house and since I didn't know where he stayed the kids came too.

It was - I am very surprised to say.......rather pleasant. He has a really nice house and does seem to have finally gotten his act together (Well it's only taken him 8 years, so bless!!) We managed a very civilized, possibly bordering on friendly conversation

I just hope my dog is okay, but I'm sure he will be - he seemed happy enough there.....well until we were leaving without him, but I'm sure he will be fine. We even waved goodbye to him as we drove away and his little face was pressed against the window......OMG....I'm such a bad mummy!!!!

Well to be honest I'm not nearly as ready as I should be, but I'm not too far behind!!

We are off on our summer hols tomorrow, so Lake District look out here we come! I checked the weather forecast for the rest of the week.....HOW DAMN TYPICAL....It's meant to start raining tomorrow and keep raining ALLLLLL week, who was it linked Travis singing "Why does it always rain on me?" again...that is sooo MY song. (Oh and I will take Fran Healey too if I'm having his song )

So the car is all done....filled with petrol, oil, tyres and water all done - CHECK!!

All the food to keep the kids quiet on the journey is bought and most of it prepared - CHECK!!

Most of the packing done, and the unpacked stuff is hanging up drying as I speak - CHECK!!

Wet weather clothing in car - ummmm definate CHECK!!

Make-up and toiletry bags x 3...much easier when it was only my own I had to worry about - CHECK!!

Tickets and directions in my bag - CHECK!!

I know there are so many other things i have to do and I know I will forget something but I can only hope it isn't something important.

I still have to take the dog to his temporary new home tonight once I've had my dinner and then hopefully after that I can get back for a quickie in chat

And I just had to pass them on!!

We had a BBQ at my mum's last night, and I made the fatal mistake of mixing vodka, wine and some other stuff I can't remember the name of......so I have been suffering all day so far, in fact I have only just got dressed - well I ran outa smokes and had to get some more, lol!!

Anyway, it was a good laugh last night and I got the chance to tell my parents that I am single again and explain a bit of what has been going on....although they had kinda already guessed some of it themselves. Dinner was great anyway, I miss family dinners/gatherings - we don't get to do it too much these days despite the fact we only live about 5 minutes away from each other

I also found out today about a friend (well somebody who I thought of as a friend) who can't be trusted. It hurts when you discover these things after they have stabbed you in the back, but at least I now know who I can and cannot trust.....nevermind :/

I got my walking shoes on today and took the dog and my oldest for a walk at a county park since it was so nice today. We took the dog with us and had a great time. The dog usually doesnt like water but he was very brave today and paddled a little in the river, so my daughter thought it would be funny to throw him in....she was right it was quite funny, but even funnier when she fell flat on her face right after him!!

lol, just as well they both dried off in the sun before we got back to the car, or they both woulda had a long walk home!!

I was asked last night to blog a picture of my dog, I have not forgotton but I can't find the pics just now...I will look them out and blog them later...ok?

Why is lazing around on hot and sunny days so tiring, think I need to take a nap!!

Today has been a day spent doing absolutely nothing much, lazing around and loving every minute of it. I am so tired though, I woke up at about 3:30 am and couldn't get back to sleep for ages again...grrrrrr I hate that, but I was too cosy and comfy to bother getting up so I just lay there getting more and more annoyed till I eventually managed to drop off again.

I started doing a jigsaw with my wee one earlier, we have all the outside done but the worktop we were using aint big enough for it so I gotta try and dig out something bigger to work on.....ohhhh I just figured out what we can use!!! They have desks in their room under their beds they dont use, I will just take one of them to bits and use the top bit (why do the obvious solutions always appear when you stop racking your brain so much, lol)
