Last night I let my youngest have a sleep-over, and we watched some scary movies....although I think the only one scared by them was me! And tonight my eldest is away to her dads to stay, so it's just me and the young un here. Since she had such a late night last night she will probably crash out really early tonight which means I get most of the night to myself...YAY

So I have plans....I'm gonna start off with de-fuzzing my body properly since I'm going on hols next week then its a long soak in the bath (in the dark with candle-light I think), then eyebrows needing a serious seeing to as they are starting to resemble a hedgerow, and finally I will put on a fake tan so I look all healthy and sunned instead of a bottle of milk from Scotland!

In fact, I have a bottle of wine somebody gave me for my birthday that i may open to sip away at while I'm spoiling myself silly......

I went out with a friend last night for a little while, but we went to a different club just to avoid any awkward situations. We were having a great laugh, then some folks we know from our local came in - we aint really too pally with them but do talk in the passing, and we thought it a bit strange when one of them brought us drinks over but we didn't really think too much about it so we thanked him and had a quick chat before he went back over to the rest of them........

......I shoulda know better, small towns and too many folks trying to stick their big, nosy, interfering beaks into other peoples business!!! One of them was busy on the phone while we were being distracted and kept there FFS!! So it was only 10 minutes before my ex walked in, making out it was a total coincidence he was there (yeah right!!!)

Anyway that was the end of the night more or less, and I had to slam a door shut on puppy dog eyes....but I am sooooo proud of myself again, because I did do it and did stick to my guns.

I guess it just means that if I'm gonna go out, then for a little while at least I will have to go further afield

I took the kids up to the stables earlier for their riding lessons, I haven't been in a while and they really have come on in leaps and bounds and I was very impressed with them both. It was good to talk to the woman who runs the place...she was my teacher when I was living and working there and we reminissed a bit over some of the horses we used to have there. I still feel kinda glum now though, because that was a whole other life ago and one that I really, really do miss.

Maybe, it was just how simple life was back then....but it is a life I wish I hadn't walked away from at the time. I am not the kind of person to waste time on regrets but if I could change one thing in my life then that would definately be the thing!!

I finished up work just over 2 hours ago, my mate picked me up from work and we headed out for our Saturday night destination....Now I remember in the good old days when I used to go on Saturday nights to go raving, maybe clubbing, sometimes pub crawls and on occassion maybe the pictures or bowling or something like it!!

lol, yup thats right - you know you are getting older when an exciting Saturday night out means going shopping at your local supermarket. We did have a laugh though while we were there and we did plan another night out next week which didn't involve shopping trolleys, so it wasn't all that bad. Only thing I couldn't find on the shelves tonight was a life....lmao!!

Just one more little shift tomorrow then I am off for 2 whole weeks!!! I can't wait - while I have been enjoying my work as an escape from other stuff lately, I am still looking forward to 2 weeks of not having to be anywhere in particular, by any time in particular. And since things at home are somewhat resolved I can actually relax and enjoy some of my time off too!!

I think I'm gonna enjoy this break more than any other I have ever had. I am taking the kids away for 4 days in the second week down to the lakes, so that should refresh us all a little...now if only I can sort this shitty, wet weather out!!

Was exactly what I did today, and although I am not finished yet things are looking much better than before. I'm just having a much needed break from it for half an hour before I start again, and somehow I ended up here in NN-land.....Can't imagine how I got here, musta taken a wrong turning at the washing pile

The kids are away out for dinner tonight too, with their paternal grandmother...she is treating them in a restaurant tonight - I told them to bring me a doggy bag but I don't hold out much hope for that, lol.

Oohhhh, and I managed to get camping tickets for next years T in da Park....yay!! Only 356 days, 18 hours and 52 minutes to go....not that I am counting though )

I have just been talking to my youngest, who has decided she wants to be a vegetarian. I told her that she doesn't eat a varied enough diet to go vegetarian and if she did all that would be left that she could eat would be carrot and chips which does not constitute a healthy diet! She did agree with me and did admit that she liked meat too much to give it up....grilled bacon butties are one of her faves. I think it is just the idea of it she had taken too without actually realising what she would be missing out on....well that and it seems to be "cool" thing to do in her circle of friends right now!

That's when I remembered what I did to her older sister when she when through the same I wanna be a veggie phase (although this one was much younger than her sis at the time)! I had her convinced for about 2 and a half years that chicken was a vegetable and served it up to her almost everynight as part of her vegetarian menu.....lol, it was only when somebody let slip that a chicken was in fact an animal that she found out, but she did forgive me after a few days of being a very strict veggie.

I can understand them feeling that way though because when I was much younger I tried it for a while too....until one day I totally forgot until half way through munching a particularly tasty sausage roll, which I was enjoying too much at the time to stop eating

Now I'd better go to the shops and stock up on some chicken!!

All quiet so far, except from waking myself up at about 5am this morning shouting out "That just isn't my responsibility"....lol, then laughing myself back to sleep but taking aboard the very wise words I spoke!!

Anyway my friend came up tonight after I finished work, she was still in all her T in the Park get up and we had a couple of drinks and watched some festival stuff online for a while. She showed me her p-mates that she bought when she was there, and we have come up with an evil plan.......Next time we are in the pub we are gonna take one each and follow a guy that we have both been with (diff guys...not the same one!!) into the urinal and use them standing up next to them, looking them in the eye as we stand there to pee....should be worth a laugh to see the panicked look on their faces!!
