I was a lil peeved this morning to see that my forum post had disappeared, but within a few hrs of noticing that, I noticed that what I ranted about had been fixed.

Back at the end of May my daughter and I made a list of things we need, this ranges from the simple, hair cuts for example to a new car. As of today we were able to cross four things off of the "list" and i managed to get a few extras too!

yup the socks are silly but they make me smile, will keep my feet warm and best of all I have never owned socks with ears before!

has more power than I thought. I updated windows and was asked if I wanted to restart my computer now. I said no and continued working. A few minutes later I got a popup telling me I had to restart my computer for the updates to take effect, I clicked do this later, a minute later the power went off for about 2 seconds forcing me to reboot.

Well you make a vid of course. Sounds easy, yes?
Not at all really. First you have to get the digi cam out and fuck around with that till the batteries are almost dead and still not be any further ahead, so its back to old faithfull the web cam. Yup I can do that, eazzzzzzzzzzzzzzy. Yeah right.
Now I have to drag the web cam to the window sill opposite side of the puter, put the cord under a plant so it doesnt keep wandering away from the "target" all systems go! Yeah right. Now i have to click start vid get what I want in the vid and click stop recording, all the garbage at the beginning and end would be a simple edit if i ever had the patience to learn how to do it, but NO i have a better idea!
So now I am rearranging the entire kitchen, I have the cam crossing the room in the opposite way I have the mouse going.

ok forgot to turn off the radio, forgot about the window being open and traffic sounds abound.

ok I think I have it set up, wires crossed yes, all sound quiet yes, lights camera action!
Damn! forgot music.
Duck under the window so I am not on display to the world, search for a cd find one and say fuck it good enough.
I think by now you see where this is going.
All in all after totally rearranging the kitchen, numerous out takes that would get Americas Funniest Home Videos top ratings, an hr later I have 29 seconds of vid worth posting.

When I had called for cable on monday I was told that it would be from 3 to 5 days from wed (today) before it would be hooked up. So I was very suprised to see the cable guy at 11 am! It was a LONG wait for the kids to come home. When they got here you would have thought it was christmas they were so excited!

that I have been on my own and I am amazed at the drastic changes for the good. I have gotten a handle on the money situation and today was able to call to get the cable back. Let me tell you that I have two very happy kids because of that. That isn't the only positive financial change but its the one I felt like mentioning. The house actually stays reasonably clean now, and all this time I thought the kids were mostly to blame, not so at all.
On a personal note I am happier and because of that I am getting much more accomplished than I have in a very long time. All of this is having a positive impact on the kids.
I still dont have the car running but that will come in time too.
