oooOOOooofff!!

ma first day off has been blissful. me n dum went out for sushi yesterday, got home, and realized we were both exhausted. so around 10pm we went to bed.

i vaguely remember waking up around 7am and lighting a smoke, hearing dum wake up next to me and telling him "this is just a quick smoke break, i'm going back to sleep" and doing just that.

woke up around 10am....12 hours of sleep, lovely, dreamless, beautiful sleep. dum was trying hard to be quiet so as not to wake me up, he's so damn sweet.

putzed around abit, paid some bills and got ma 1st crop of homemade beef jerky on the grill, then went for brunch. got back and OMG, needed a nap. so i took one

woke up expecting to head for the beach, but dum said it was HIS turn to take a nap..lmao...

now i'm gonna sit back and read patterson's newest book, drink a few beers and wait till ma dum wakes up.

it's so amazing, him being here. he's always doing sweet things. not being much of a "flowers and candy" kinda girl maself, it's taking quite some getting used to. he makes sure i have fresh flowers in the house at all times. he bought me lillys yesterday. god i love lillys.

......until some much needed R&R, two WHOLE days off....then i work a day, and have TWO MORE days off....and they're already pretty booked...

thursday is gonna be my lay around the house for half the day ....then take dums to the beach for a bbq with some friends.

friday we're having another couple over (not concrete) to watch movies and enjoy some good food.

saturday i'm working, but,my lil sister is gonna meet me @ ma store, follow me home, and spend the night with me n dum, more movies and even more good food...

sunday we're gonna hang out with lil sis, then send her on her way home.

monday......i ain't getting dressed. ain't leaving the couch....ain't doin NUFFIN.......

*grins* how's THAT for some time off?!?!?

heeeeey....i PROMISE dum didn't kill me and bury me in the back yard, or keep me locked in the closet, only let out for sex.

work has been hell. when my boss was transferred out, my ONE decorator left less than a week later. so i was down to myself and my decorator apprentice.

two weeks of running the shop MY way (and doing a DAMN fine job of it) and then here comes ma new boss.

she doesn't mix. she doesn't decorate. she doesn't do paperwork. so me and my ONE baker tackle mixing, while i struggle to keep up the decorator section w/ the new girl.

fast forward another week, and my mixer get's promoted. to asst. manager @ my new boss' old store. so now i'm down to ONE decorator apprentice, and ONE baker apprentice. and a manager who does neither.

so i'm now running around the bakery like mad, trying to mix the bread, decorate the cakes, and having to stop in the middle of everything to keep the paperwork caught up.

dum got here on the 31st, and i had the 31st and the 1st off. since the 1st of april, i've had a grand total of one day off. which was last wednesday. my next day off is this thursday. do a lil math and you'll note that in 17 days, i'll have had one whole day off to spend with my dummy.

the only reason i'm home this early, is the bakery manager @ the other store (where my baker is now the asst) went on vacation this week, and it's inventory week. my newly promoted baker hasn't ever done an inventory, so they sent ma new boss back to her old store, and brought ma baker back to mine.

needless to say, he came in today @ 8am and by 1pm we were basically done with everything. it also helps that spring break is over (FINALLY!!) and we've slowed down alot.

whew.....i know this is one of those horrid "bitching" blogs where i do nothing but complain, but deffo needed to get that off ma chest.

there's been no news of a promotion for me. tho there is another spot open, as you recall. once again, there are 2 finalists, myself, and a guy i've worked with before. he's been an asst. longer than me, so the odds aren't great. but he dosn't really want the promotion. he's quite happy where he's at. *shrugs* i gave up hoping on ma own shop for now. maybe later, eh? till then, i'll do my damnedest to make sure my shop shines as bright as it can.....

today is ma first and only day off this week, and my first day off in 8 days. poor dummy, he moves in, has two days with me, which we spend moving his stuff in. then i'm at work ALL the time...by the time i get home most nights, i'm too tired to go anywhere, wind up on the couch with a beer and watching a movie or something.

he's got to be going insane by now. he is, by nature, a very social person. me? not so much. i have one or two people i hang out with occasionally, but this whole "social life" stuff still has me scratching ma head. guess i was kept under lock and key for too long.

tried to take him out last night. *sighs* that was a disaster. back when i DID go out (like 11 years ago) i went to this lil bar. it was cool. good music, good people. yea...nothing stays the same does it?

today i'm taking him around town, showing him the beach, and my store, on our way to my parents house. i keep telling him they're gonna love him, and they will. but having gone throu the whole "meet the parents" thing before with his...i understand. but we're not getting as drunk before meeting mine as we did before meeting his. lol

*muwah* to you all...missin ya'll boatloads....hopefully soon it'll slow down at work and i can have TWO days off a week.

i must be rubbing off on him....lmfao.....he actually BLOGGED!!!!!

i'd promised that i would give my new mgr the benefit of a doubt, before i passed judgment on her. well, it's been almost a month. and guess what??

FUCK HER!!!

she's basicly useless as fuck, dosn't know paperwork, and instead of ASKING someone to show her, she just don't do it. so when i come back from 2 days off....BAM, i'm already behind.

somehow....she logged 54 hours last week?? what the fuck did she do?!?!?! i know she came from a busy store, one of the busiest... so there's NO WAY she could possibly move that SLOOOOOOOOOOW. yet she does.

my newest baker...i've been on his case since day one for being slow...milking the clock, as it were. but HOLY SHIT....she mixed today....started @ 8am....and when i left @ 4PM was JUST finishing!! seriously....it's NO MORE than a 4-5 hour job. i'd figured, at first, that she was doing paperwork, the odds and ends we have to do everyday.

until just before i was about to leave. i came in @ 4:30am, didn't take a lunch, and 4pm was quickly approaching. as i'm walking past, she asks if i'd e-mailed a certain report we have to figure on thursdays. GAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!! i go into our office and i have NO CLUE what she was doing in there for over an hour, but it wasn't the daily paperwork.......CUZ I HAD TO DO IT.

*takes a deep breath*

she just called me.....she's STILL there...wants me to come in @ 8am instead of noon. fine.

it's NOT that she was promoted before me, which DOES bite my ass...but what REALLY kills me, is that SHE....HER....the person...with her skill set.....was promoted before me. i'm just enjoying the fact that by all reports...since she took control of the dept. our inventory has gone UP, sales DOWN, and we're throwing away more than twice our product. yea. the promoted they right person....



BTW....other than work? lol.....loving ma dum more and more everyday. having him to come home to makes all the previous shit much less a hassle...

so this is what i was missing all along. go to work, have a bleh kind of day...nothing really great happened.

get home to find dum on the couch sound asleep. i decide to let him snooze a bit, since i know he had just fallen asleep. that lasted all of 5 minutes before he woke up and came to kiss me hello. discussed our days as he preps dinner. he's grilling me a NY strip steak, himself a salmon steak. with a vinaigrette pasta. (when i get fat...blame him)

after dinner we're going to soak in the tub, as his back is bothering him from moving, and my back and shoulders are killing me from work etc.

i'm sure by then we'll be ready for bed... tho sleep isn't on the agenda till later ;P

dum is getting accustomed to living in the south surprisingly fast. he ALMOST didn't bat an eye when one old timer giving him directions used the phrase "over yonder"

he got a temp fishing lisence and sat across the street earlier today. he didn't catch anything, but i know he had fun...

see? just a normal day......can't wait for a million more of these.

so he's here, and we did the grocery shopping as a couple thing. now we're inviting some friends over to help us move the big stuff in....dum's cooking bbq pork, as well as bbq beans....

we brought northern star out from the beach to the country...so she can hang out and meet dummy... of course we HAD to take a pic!!!

dum made it in this morning around 9:30am. he did have to stop last night. apparently, it rained the entire way down. poor thing. but he found his way to my lil bayou (which he has now decided is not a swamp, but a river)
