The more time I spend at the bike shop seems the more motorcycle themed blogs I post. And it makes me wonder...ya think I get less blog viewership due to it? Then I remember, well fuck. I use this piece of interwebs to spout whatever I want... cakes... kittens... general blahs... Back to the matter at hand. I see a post from a local news agency on my Facebook wall, and I read the article.. http://www.ksdk.com/news/article/262738/3/Police-identify-man-killed-in-South-City-motorcycle-crash And I'm saddened for this young man, and his family. 19 is entirely too young to lose a friend, cousin, brother OR son. I see how the SUV turned left in front of him.. and he tried to avert the crash. I see how NO one in the SUV was hurt, and this teenager died. Then I see this comment on the story: "I think he was just a kid on one of those Japanese Nijas and was driving to fast. Like those kids do. And the driver of the SUV had no time to react." Really??!?!??! REALLY????? 60% of all accidents involving motorcycles are due to motorists NOT seeing motorcyclists! This kid TRIED to swerve out of the way when the SUV turned IN FRONT OF HIM. And blame the biker? I'll admit, freely, there's too many people on motorcycles who shouldn't be. The ones who won't wear their safety gear, the TRUE dumbasses who swing a leg over their bike after a beer. Or six. Those chodes you see making their own lane....OR...the TRUE kings of douchedom... the one's doing wheelies and going 160 down the interstate... But... this guy's gonna go off on someone following the rules of the road... and make suggestions that because he's young, and on a sportbike...it's HIS fault?!?!? Fuck you dude. That being said, what do you think? Are motorcyclists a lesser being? Do accidents like this need to be prosecuted? Fess up, and I promise, if you read all this rant, you deserve to be recognized

Wednesday, June 8, 2011, 12:19:32 AM- Prayer
I'll preface this blog with two points. One: I'm a practicing pagan, focusing mainly on Wicca, but have other beliefs mixed in. Two: The previous statement shouldn't even need to be made. So last night, I made a Facebook post asking my friends to say a prayer (to whatever Deity they believed in) for a rider who fell down at a track day. He was in ICU and not doing well. Shortly after, several of my friends had commented that they would, in some form, pray for the gentleman. Shortly after THAT, I received a private message from someone on my friends list who I've not really spoken with in over 20 years. This person is now in school to be a minister. Her question was, if I was not a christian, isn't it rather....hypocritical of me to ask my friends for prayers? I was racking my brain as to how to answer this woman. I did fire off an answer to her, but really wasn't happy with how I explained it. Of the people who commented that they would pray for the rider, One was Catholic, one a Baptist, one a Mormon, and I had a PM from a fellow pagan. I didn't send the request out for specifically Christian friends. Which is why I worded the post carefully.. here's the exact post: "If you pray, to ANY deity, please say one for a racer who needs it. He was injured during a track day in MidOh." I think it's horribly narcissistic of the person I got the PM from to assume I was only asking for Christian prayers. On the contrary, seeing as how I don't believe in the Christian God, if I believed a prayer was only as good as the Deity, then the prayers of the Christians would be pointless and wasted. I believe that prayer is nothing more than positive thinking. Ergo, when my Christian friends pray to their God, they are sending out positive energy in the direction of their God, as well as to the rider and his family. People of all faiths point to how "prayer saved their lives" or the lives of family or friends. And I will never dispute that. But if you replace the word prayer with positive thinking, you get the same result. So, while I told my elementary school friend the general gist of what I believed, I think I might have missed the mark. I would never in my life discount someone else's beliefs. I would think the fact that I respect the sheer AMOUNT of trust and belief that my friends have in their respective Gods, enough to ask them to send out that message of positive thinking, would mean I'm not a hypocrite, but a person merely asking for more positive thinking directed at someone who dearly needs it. Then again....maybe I'm just missing the point.

* It's full swing motorcycle season in the US. Please do keep an eye out for those on two wheels. Seeing so many people riding around in shorts and tank tops kills me tho. All I see is road rash and scars... * The kittens are getting more active. I spent 20 minutes just watching Speedbump and Sped do their lil MMA ground and pound routine. Biting, punching, kicking, tackling. They're SO damn cute. * I've been trying to explain to Dummy that it's not normal for people our age (36 and 31) to only have sex once a month...TOPS. I swear to the gawds, for every ounce my libido increases... Dummy's goes down TWO. Toys have lost their appeal. *shrug* * The more I live my life, the more I despise my decision to not run away and join a circus when I was younger.

I'm a busy girl... and i work A LOT! Hell...three times a month...and I'll be happy. But....really? You're gonna make it like it's MY fault I want sex so much? For fucks sake, I'm only 31.Women's libido goes up with age, FYI. No....I say "I NEED TO GET FUCKED. BY A MAN." and get a giggle. >.< then he goes to sleep. Toys only go so far. So the kittens all have their eyes open, and are scooting along quite well. Other than one...the one Dummy's picked to live with us, and we've named BurnOut. She....refuses to stay in the box. Her brother and sisters will be napping happily in their cuddle-puddle...and here she is... roaming the office. I was able to get some vid of her... be prepared to OD on cute...
