I thought I'd catch some rays, and get a little color too. So I take the Sunday paper outside, find a nice spot and start reading. Next thing, I awake to the sound of my own snoring almost an hour later, my mouth hanging open. Not much of a story BUT--- can you sunburn your tongue? S--T!!!!! the only part of my body that still works reliably and I went and sunburned it!!!! FOOOOOOK!

pic below-- FC don't know when for sure - but I would guess around the time of WWI. That number of soldiers in one place seems to make it a wartime pic, also the uniforms look like cavalry of that period. Just guessing really.

Sunday, March 9, 2008, 4:08:05 PM- Shampooing my hair

My cleaning lady was in to do the bathroom a couple days ago, and when she left she asked why I was using the type of shampoo I had. Well, it was brand new quart of stuff my Mom used before she broke her hip and went into a nursing home. I figured I would just use it up. I asked hew why she asked it went like this:
CL that stuff is for grery hair
Mort; Yea, I know
CL No, it makes grey hair stand out
Mort; It doesn't help hide it?
CL; No, it's supposed to highlight it, make it more shiney!
Mort; S***

Now, I have had enough grey hair for that "distinguished" look for 10 years or more (OK, 15 stop niggiling), and I'm sort of overly distinguished now. I really don't need "EXTRA" highlights, FFS!!!!!

Am I the only one getting stupider as I get older?
When does the *wisdom* thing start kicking in?

Note to self: "check the labels on stuff" & "go to Long's tommorow"

I was trying on new jeans the other day. Seems on my way down from 38's I went past the 36's also. Not quite 34- that ain't gonna happen. And I'm not throwing out my 38's quite yet either. I did swap texts while trying on the jeans though- had a HARD time getting the zipper up after the messages.

LOL It's always something. I am hoping the jeans are a little "cooler" than my usuall stuff. But how do I know? I shoulda brought somebady with good taste to help me with the chices. I hope to have a reason to look 'cool' sometime soon.

This time it was my Moms roomate at the nursing home. She was 92 years old, and frail. She has gone home at long last. They had a white coffin for her, first time I ever saw that. A full mass, with a pretty good turnout.
Is it rude to notice that her 4 great nieces were all boobolicious? "D" and bigger all. Well they had proper black dresses, just with V neck and scoop necklines. Who the hell am I not to notice when they put them on display like that? I am only a weak minded man. It's not like I stared or anything, ................much. LOL

Did take a moment to say a prayer for a friend while there, we could all use a little prayer every now and then, including me, but this friend needs it just a little more.

We have a new priest that doesn't know me so I didn't get a shot about not being there more often. (in an old blog)
. Sorry I haven't had time to read many others blogs the last few days.

I went through my drawers and closet. Got rid of a bunch of stuff I don't wear anymore. Exciting huh? I have been on a diet and lost some weight so I tried on all my suits. It seems I am now placed squarely in the middle of my old size and new size. That is the suits and jackets from before are too small by a scootch, and the recent stuff looks like a sack on me. SHIT! WTF do I do now?
The time here is 11:30pm can't seem to figure out the way NN stamps the time on things, doesn't really matter I guess.

Couldn't think of anything funny either, so here is my favorite road sign.

I got a valentines card! From a longtime friend at work. He sent it out like a christmas card, family foto and a little story of their year. He lives only a 5 minute walk away and yet since my dog died I hardly go by to see him. I need to do that.

Movie review, I went to see Atonement wednesday. if you want to feel good after a movie go see this. NOT! It is a good movie but be prepared for a heavy message, very serious. I seem to preffer to be entertained these days, action and comedy, mystery maybe.

I hope everybodys V day is as good as can be.
