Two more wedding cakes this year, then I should be done till next season. I have a toilet cake I'll be doing today, I'm sure there'll be pics soon.

It was nice, Dummy did a huge spread. Smoked turkey breast, a huge ham out on the grill, stuffing, savory sweet potatos, green beans two ways (casserole and with almonds and balsamic vinaigrette), wild rice with barley and walnuts, bacon wrapped asparagus, a pickle platter with pickled asparagus, okra, 3 types of olives. His parents and sister and niece came out and we STILL have a ton of leftovers.

My Packers won, which means they're STILL undefeated. It's nice to have a winning team again.

I called my family and got to speak with pretty much everyone. Talking to my parents was hard, as I miss them so much. My dad's health isn't the best, and he has more dr. appointments this week. I tried to hold it together, but didn't do so well. =(

I hope everyone had a fantastic day and weekend thus far. I think this year we might even be able to afford presents for most everyone. (Well, I will, Dummy don't believe in giving presents on christmas, as he's not christian). I don't care whats the occasion, it's still nice to get people a little something.

Why oh why is it always one step forward and two steps back?!? I swear..

Never mind all that. It's the start of my three day weekend... Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. The shop is closed Sun and Mon, so I'm saying fuck a buncha dumb shit..

I'M TAKING PICS! lmfaooo! Been too long since I've taken any good sets. Hrmm...what to wear...what to wear....

It's called a different name for every country... but a day set aside for all of the country to remember those countrymen (and women) who have given their lives for us, our way of life, what we have, and how we enjoy it.

Ya'll know I have a soft spot for our military men and women. My bloodline is literally littered with military men. My dad served in the Air Force for 24 years. My bio-father was Air Force for 12. My Papa (grandfather) served in the army for 12 years, and was one of the lucky *ahem* ones to guard the Panama Canal as it was made. My great-grandpa was navy, my great-great grandpa served in the Confederate Army.

I'd thought about joining one branch or another, when I was younger. But I couldn't deal with the whole..."DO AS I SAY!" mentality. (other than the Army, I just told the recruiter I look horrid in green =P)

Anyway... I do what I can, donating to veteran support services, swallowing my inane shyness to walk up to strangers in airports/malls/wherever and shaking their hands n saying "Thank you". Believe me, it's harder than it sounds...

I'm doing 2 cakes this friday... for our local veterans association.. well...two cakes and 5 dozen cookies. I came up with the idea for the cookies.

The main theme of their pics (which will go on their cakes) is the empty boots... so on their cookies... two boots with "In remembrance forever"

So a few weeks ago I tried to overprice a cake, again. And, again, they went for it. So here I am.. making fondant animals for a baby shower cake. That I didn't want to make. I do admit, they've turned out cute as hell.

I used to be really good about keeping up on my blogs. Then all this shit started happening that I couldn't blog.. So rather than leave cryptic blogs, I just didn't do anything.

So, what's been happening? Oodles and nothing all at the same time, I guess. I'm head decorator at the bakery now, I think I might have forgotten to mention that when it happened. I'd rather not have the position, as now I'm the one doing all the crazy screwy cakes, as well as making and delivering all the wedding cakes. Luckily, wedding season is almost over. I just have 3 big ones left on the 12th of Nov...then the board is clear till next spring.

We were having issues at the shop, but we've put a temporary band-aid on that. Our partnership with the local stunt riders is starting to pay off, more business in here. Our Saturday free hot lunches started off with a few people stopping by for a bowl of whatever Dum made and us having leftovers for Sunday and Monday, to a steady stream and an empty crock pot at the end of the day. Come the 10th, I think a lot of our headaches will be taken care of, and we'll be able to keep the doors open throu what looks to be a long and cold winter.

My birthday kinda sucked. But we're planning on celebrating both mine and Dum's together later this month (when finances allow). Oh! Crap! His birthday's in 3 days! >.> I gotta get shopping!
